Ahh, I see. Thanks for this. It should be so easy.

I'll def follow the instructions as I don't see much of else to do. I was initially going to remove the spyware installed here before it came back there was another one here too. Thought it might have been conflicting. I worry about the warranty though. They're funny about that. Its an older model and not insured. Will that have any barring on it? I'll still enter the info just to try. I'm scared to turn it on now. I'm on my home desktop now doing all this, so I'll turn it on and see what happens.

I heard about that. Will doing this give you access to my personal IP so you can see what my laptop is doing?

Don't worry about him. I'm sure he enjoyed my hanging up on him just as much as I did. Not interested in bs, just want to diagnose and fix what he was supposed to fix. In all honestly, my computer wasn't broken before he had his hands on it. I brought it in JUST to get the DC jack fixed up and the battery up and running again. Now I'm dealing with all these new updates and service packs. It was fine the way it was before. I didn't have this much protection installed and it was working fine.

I wasn't there when it was updated so I don't know what was going on. And with no communication from the jerk off now, I'm figuring this out alone. I took off a day JUST to handle this. Ooooo, some nerds mad

MariahsFantasy,

Yes, I would have temporary control over your laptop. If we have to do this, you will be able to watch everything I do. Once you close the connection, I won't be able to connect again unless you approve.

Just to confirm, you can use it as long as you want in Safe Mode, right? It doesn't freeze up or lock up in Safe Mode, correct?

Honestly, if he were a nerd or a geek, it probably would have been fixed right the first time. He sounds more like a dweeb to me.

Oh good than I'm glad for that. I won't close the connection until its fixed up. This time for good.

No it doesn't, I don't have any issues with it in Safe mode, I'm safe there.

More like socially awkward. Speaking on the phone with him was a little rough I gotta admit.

Can you use it normal mode for any period of time before it locks up? You will probably need to be in normal mode for me to gain remote access.

Every program does that or just certain ones? Can you use Internet Explorer without it locking up?

Mozilla is the ONLY program that hasn't locked. Could I have a virus? Hard to tell.

I am so strung out about this I can't even think straight. I don't know, I can't be sure if its something I did or pressed when those updates occurred. I know the inept prick would probably say it was and with a sneer; this is who I'm dealing with. That's the person I talked to yesterday. I just don't need this. If I had a nerd that was a friend, all this would be different. Then they'd care to a little bit to actually help instead of tease and jeer and phuck around. I don't have time for this.

It could be a memory shortage. Try pressing ctrl+alt+delete. This will bring up task manager. Close any unnecessary programs running. You may have windows set up so that a lot of programs run in the background automatically. If that's the case, you'll have to go into your system properties and end processes that startup automatically.

re-doing an Os if someone doesn't know how to do that sort of thing isn't wise to suggest. you need a lot of tools to do that type of work. perhaps see about picking up a basic A+ course you'll learn on all topics and it'll give you tools so you don't fork out *** loads of money to places like Bestbuy.

Ugh, just personal preference. Not a fan of anything Best Buy. I appreciate the advice though. I'm touching it, I got butta fingers.

Meant to say NOT there. I'm scared to still turn it on, just press F5 and go into safe mode. Ooooh, startin from zero again. If only there was a nerd that was my friend too. Any Trekkie forums out there? Star Wars?

Trekkie is derogatory at this point in the game, trekker is what we are called now. Trekker.

Ahhh, I'll try not to make that mistake from now on. Still mad at a particular nerd, guess I took it out on him with that term. If only he coulda been nicer.

I was just quoting the movie fanboys, you can call trekkies whatever you want. I'll help you with it this weekend, with any luck we'll get you back up and running.
