I'm considering having weight loss surgery. Is there_anyone else who's had this done? What this did you have and what was your experience? Id like some input other than that I've seen on the weight loss surgery sights. thanks :)

A childhood friend had it done, years ago.
What surprised me was, after the surgery
and weight loss, she had to go back in and
get it reversed.
She gained it all back :=)

I know many people that have done this, they do not gain the weight back because they had their stomach stapled so they are only able to eat very little & they get full....On the down side I have heard the extra fat remains..... most of these people do not exercise! I know of someone who has had hundreds of pounds of the FAT removed cut off surgically!

do have a friend who was very overweight and unhealthy. He was very sick, then he changed his eating
habbits stopped eating red meats, sweets and cut back on his carbs....His diet is a lot of fish and vegies & he has lost a ton of weight! He is no longer sick or on meds. I was very impressed he started working out to tone up ........Also that Alli pill helps to cut the FAT I know of a couple people who lost weight on that...only it's been removed from the shelves I heard it's coming back in April... it does help to cut the fatts!

They have to have it reversed, or they would eventually die.
The weight comes back easily if they have made no lifestyle changes.

I know several women that have had this procedure.. The reason they regain weight is they do not stick to the diet program and overeat which stretches what little stomach you have back to where you were when you started, defeating the purpose of having surgery in the first place..

Have what REVISED? That pill?

I had it done. I had an experimental UCLA RNY.

It did fix my high cholesterol. I am not thin but it did keep a lot of the weight off. It did lower my blood pressure. It did stop my borderline diabetes. Would I do it again?? NO WAY IN HELL. It was torture. It made my life miserable. It complicated every surgery since.
