Just a little suggestion to make life difficult for scammers, it as worked for me and told a few friends my ideas. If u get contacted by some 1 ask to see them on cam decently dressed of coarse and ask them to do something like put there hands on there head and wait till u say stop. They can play a video feed but a video just cannot interact with u. as a genuine guy I would have no problem going on cam to prove I am who I say I am and I don’t think any other genuine guy would have a problem either.
Have not got a cam is about the best excuse they come up with or they only have a phone, but they can go to an internet café if that’s the case.
The only other excuse is that they are shy, well they are just going to have to be embarrassed for five minutes then.
Would love to hear feed back on the idea.
In the mean time u all take care have fun and keep smiling.

Best thing to do is to report and block. DO NOT INTERACT WITH SCAMMERS/SPAMMERS.

I try my best to piss them off.

Scambaiting and otherwise interacting with scammers and spammers is counter productive and puts you in more danger, by verifying to them that you are a real live person. This makes you more valuable to hem.

Instead, report them and block them. Don't put yourself in more danger. Don't make the website admins job any harder by creating even more/bigger problems.

totage is correct. When scams occur somewhere other than this site, it's out of our jurisdiction. We won't be able to take action then. You need to report any one you suspect. If they don't get you, they might get someone else. Also, when you go off site with them, they can hack into your email accounts. Let's face it, yahoo, gmail, etc aren't very secure.

im not sure how to be certain it is a scam and dont want to be reporting genuine people. know a lot of the tell tale signs but not sure i know all of them.

The site will look into all reports. It's better to report someone that you suspect. If there isn't proof or they aren't scammers, nothing happens. No one knows (except the site) who reports who. That is confidential

But that way we can protect all the members if they turn out to be scammers. We can't do anything for what happens off site because we can't see it and it's a he said/she said thing.

It best to stay here to talk (through emails or the IM feature) until you feel safe to go off site.

Hackers can get into your regular email accounts pretty easy. I had a yahoo account hacked a while back

Report it anyway. Admin. will take care of it and determine if it's an actual scam or not. That's their job.

The advice above is correct, these scammers have been at it awhile and they just hacked into LinkedIn and is working with the FBI to investigate a cyber attack in which 6.5 million of its users' passwords were stolen.

If you think you can outsmart them by playing cat and mouse, you are setting yourself up for attack. Please reconsider your approach on this.

All things being equal, one thing is increasingly clear: If you buy, sell, congregate or communicate through a computer, you'll probably have your account hacked at least once in your lifetime. And if you haven't already faced the momentary fear and loss, the sense of disassociation and confusion that accompany a data breach, you're lucky -- and probably overdue. I wish you well sir.

If you think you're going to piss them off by wasting their time, you're wrong. You're playing right into their trap. They want you to think you're wasting their time. They're verifying you are a real person, and obtaining more data than you think. They don't care if you give them fake info. they use and sell it anyway.

The Best way to get rid of scammers is to just stay on site. People who are legit don't mind talking on site. Scammers are always hot to get off site and have a hundred reasons that are all BS. Or they are married and trying to get somewhere they think their spouses or parole officers can't find them.

Help kinda new and I was wondering if I can search by recent activity? I see someone I think would be nice to chat with and its says last seen over a month ago. Or if not any advise on me trying to find people with similar intrest and not just what kinda relationship they're looking for or looks?

Any advice would be great! Thanks : -)

All Search results returned, are by order
of when they were last seen on Mingle2.
As you go back further in that list, they
have been away longer.

Also, if you click on any given "Interest"
as shown on their profile, it renders a
Search of that Interest.
