This would depend on the laws and regulations of both your own country and the country of which you wish to do business with. Good luck, I hope things work out.

Make sure you do your homework on the breeder as well. There are many out there that do not have the animals welfare in mind at all.

Animal importation can be a pain in the backside! It all depends on the nation. Also animal importation can be very expensive considering that the animal will need appropriate vaccinations and proof there of. There is also the Quarantine period many nations like America has which here is 30 days. There are breeds that are spotted like Dalmatians I have seen, Great Danes for one but are you sure you want a small horse of a dog?

Sometimes we have to adapt our desires to get something we want. To me Dalmatians are not exactly smart, and in some cases are kind of thick headed. I also know another complaint others have for the breed is they are not even tempered. Some of them are just down right mean. This can limit adoption options. You do not want to adopt a biter or a dog that does not really like you. many dogs like this will not change just because you are treating it kind. I would think it better to choose a dog that you feel comfortable with that likewise reciprocates good behavior, not a dog that will hump your leg, growl at you, and even take a snap at you here and there.

I know far too many people who assumed that adoption gave them a already housebroken and trained animal. You get what you pay for! Don't expect a lot adopting! Be ready to be that animal's trainer. Likewise if it is too old like over three training a dog that old can be frustrating and the older they are the harder it gets. If you adopt adopt young. Two years old is the threshold age. after that training like i said becomes an issue! If the animal comes from a good home and received its training and it just needs a new home there is something there. Humane Society (dog pound) adoptions are tricky and kennel adoptions are usually reject dogs that are not worth squat, ie, untrainable, inbred, behavioral disorders, etc. But then again if you are observant, prudent, and cautions even there you might find a dog worth something. Most of the best and smartest dogs I ever seen were mutts!
