I was looking for a "friendly" online environment. Some of my friends were already here and invited me to join them. I didn't like it at first, but then it GREW on me!!

I wasn't meeting men that I wanted to date through usual channels (clubs, pubs, dating parties etc) and I wanted to see if I would meet like minded people online.

I wasn't getting anywhere with women in the outside world that is my hometown. I never got past the friend zone with the single ones and the only ones that were flirtatious were the married ones. So I thought I'd try internet dating and almost gave up on THAT because everywhere I tried I had to pay to communicate everytime. sometimes seperate fees for individual options. Then I found mingle2. I'll continue posting on the forums and see what happens.

I just needed someone else to listen to me gab all day long.

I was initially curious about the outside 'grown up' world as I was a couped up single mom always home with the kids once I lost my paying job and the deadbeat dad and I finally parted ways,,,,


being kind of confined from just leaving my kids , however, caused me to only be free to do what could be done while at home with them,,,

so internet became one of my only forms of 'grown up' socializing,,,

after I got back in the world through non paying work/jobs, I had just gotten much too preoccupied with being mom and dad to my kids to really want to take on another grown up in any one on one , constant, basis,,,,

and after doing it alone now so long,, Ive just gotten that much pickier,,,,lol

Curiosity. Hell knows what I was expecting from it. . Basically, it was my little social experiment. Just wondered how people would react to anything I said. As I'd never used a forum before.

How did I get started, one of my friends signed me up and I promised I'd give it a try.

I still do it because I'm completely inept at meeting people.

Cause I couldnt get laid in the real world!!!

Figured it couldn't hurt. Boy, was I wrong. People had suggested I try "Plenty of Fish" and "Table For Six". I wasn't impressed with either of them. Stumbled across mingle2 13 months ago and have been hooked ever since.
