I know I've been in and out lately, but I havn't seen this discussed so correct me if I missed a topic and I defer to it.

On July 17 Bush signed a law prohibiting any protest with regards to the war in Iraq. Not only outlawed it, but indicated that ANYONE publicly protesting the law can and will be treated as a terrorist in accordance to the "reissued" or as I call it the new and improved version of the Patriot Act.

How can he do that - isn't anyone else ready to blow up about this?

Do you know what it means to be treated as a terrorist in accordance with that dam-n Act? You basically are stripped of your rights as a citizen.

In my anger over this one I began do some research and here's only a small portion of what I found:

Since taking office in 2001, President Bush has issued signing statements on more than 750 new laws, declaring that he has the power to set aside the laws when they conflict with his legal interpretation of the Constitution. The federal government is instructed to follow the statements when it enforces the laws. Here are 10 examples and the dates Bush signed them:

There are dozens of such account by many different sources and some say they have record of up to 1100 of signing statements.

Good grief, how many more months do we have to allow this man to continue this outrage? With all the guns in this country where's the one with "the magic bullet"?

The governing bodies in both parties have been trying for years to convince us that our voices mean nothing.

This Law SHOULDN'T stay on the books for long before it it thrown out for being unconstitutional.

In any case, I'm not worried. They COULDN'T enforce this law, because most of the population will speak out against the war and they CAN'T lock everyone up, they lack the man power and space.

In all honesty, all joking aside, there's no difference between Democrat and Republican anymore, despite what they say. If you want to make a difference, start gathering people now and vote Independant.

I agree and so does George Washington. He warned long ago that a two party political system would tear the country apart and that it takes more than just two political juggernauts throwing their weight around to make a powerful nation.

Sadly though, the two parties are in power and those who have power are always afraid to lose it...

Nixon was a patron saint
compared to Bush.

He has no respect for the
rule of law, neither does
Gonzales.

Cheney is a criminal psychopath.

Why won't anyone impeach these idiots?

We don't need to, besides if the government is so corrupt, you trust them to take legal action against itself?
