Topic: why is the devil never considered to be a woman?

I was just wondering about the feminists out made a big deal about god could be a woman, while no mention is ever made that the devil could be a woman? it would seem to make more sense the the devil is a woman than god is.... any thoughts?

women have rarely ever wanted to truly be equal in ALL things,,,,

or else we wouldnt see such uproar when there is a report of some famous man hitting a woman,,,,and hear hardly ANY when the reverse is true,,,

But I dont believe God to be man or woman, because I dont believe him to be human and have human anatomy

I likewise believe the devil can take ANY form, genetically,,,

yes, its a label

like a last name, and the child (his original creation) carries a name that links them

God and his creation were HE, a man, although God has no gender(why would he need one?) and his creation does

The creation of God from his creations ribs was called WOman, and Her

I believe when the devil is referred to as HE its because he was taking some type of MALE form,,but I dont believe that is the only form 'he' takes,,,

since i don't really believe in god, i find it all to be goble-de-****... i was mainly talking about the feminists who say god could be a woman never says the devil could be one too...

Pffft CowboyGH. Women are warriors too. But good point!

This is very true. The women in my kung fu classes could most likely whoop my azz in a fair fight (one with the traditional rules). An unfair brawl is another matter. pitchfork

Interesting, then why does Jesus refer to his father as "father" esp a male figure. And who is our God? Jesus Christ, was he not male?

Genesis 1
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Notice "his" image and created he "him".

The Bible was probly written by a man.

aye, it was. But there is a reason for that. Again, not being sexist, or downgrading women. But only men are called to preach/teach according to the scriptures. Yes, this could be seen as being biased. But if you're going to pick apart the scriptures like that and say and or insinuate man put it the way they wanted to, what does that say for the rest of the scriptures?

And really all in all, it doesn't truly matter. If God would have been of a female gender, then men would be saying God's sexist towards men and so forth.

God created this planet to work a certain way. God appointed men to be the head of the household, cause there has to be some form of organization and direction. So he chose the man to lead the household. Again, it's not sexist, it's just one or the other needed to be. So he chose the men. I assume he chose the man, because on the norm males are generally more aggressive and assertive then females. And so forth. But the man still has his rules to follow as well. They are not to just order the female/wife around to do this or that while they sit on their lazy butt drinking beer watching football.

father was a familial label, for humans it referenced gender for sure, because the role of the MALE in biblical times was as provider and protector

but I still dont believe that implied God has a GENDER,

if you think about it in modern times, its like figuring out why certain spanish words are conjugated as masculine and others feminine

it doesnt mean those things have a gender either,, it was just a reference in common that people understood,,,

even in the passage you offer, the term 'man' is used even though it refers to all humans,, male and female

this I agree with

the choice was made, whatever choice that was made someone would have complained or asked why not another choice,,,

Yes, all in all. God has no "gender". Because the separation in gender is only there for reproduction purposes which is not needed by God nor the angels and so forth. But nevertheless as you explain the father being a familial label the gender comes into play. That is the only purpose for the gender there. It is taken as a male, because God made the males the head. Thus, he portrays himself as a male because he is the final authority, he is the head of this family.

Exactly, if the choice would have been on the other side, here on Earth the discussion would then just be flipped in the gender roles.
