I am a little more than half way through the 3rd book. Wouldn't you love to have a man that was that deeply in love with you?

omg YES!

I got the first book and tried, and i mean TRIED to read it at work.. wow.. it's a book to read alone so your imagination can run with youblushing

Sweetheart, real men already put you first.

Some guys just need a little imagination and need to want to try new things.

Early news show a few weeks ago, stated a jump in the birth rate due to the first book. Bakers grocery change in Omaha, Nebr has sold over 25,000 copies, as of 4 weeks ago. News also reported, Cali. adult toy chain, had 400% jump in toy sales, mentioned in the books. They started marking those items "as mentioned in Shades of Gray." Sounds like the book "CANDY", back in the early 60's.

Tried reading this former fan fiction trash. The author copied a horrible franchise and cashed in on it. Its repetitive and annoying. The British terminology she used is really irritating since the characters are American. So many things wrong with this, its official: anyone can be published.

Do you want a man that loves you so much that you are not allowed direct eye contact? Or one that loves you so much you can't talk to who you want?

Read all 3, wasnt all that impressed by it was way too far fetched for my liking, kind of predictable and cliche, read it out of sheer curiosity and to see what all the hype was about, i suppose it might have to do with not being able to identify with Anastasia, i am definately not a sub ;) i definately see and understand this books popularity though.

He's just shy about it. He doesn't want people to know that he keeps his copy in his work drawer, so he can read it during breaks.

I bought the first book...because of all the hype.
I couldn't finish it. I give the author applause for her success but honestly it was quite amateur for me.
Christian started out as amazing...but really couldn't make me believe what was so awesome about Ana. The repetitious lip biting and eye rolling and emails....I thought I was reading something from junior high.
I did stop reading it. I want to see the movie. Praying that it will be made by someone who can turn this into more of an adult interest.

While it wasn't written nearly as well as I hoped it would be, the story got better into the second and third books. I know some people who didn't like the first book much, but liked the story much better later on. They're quick reads, though, so if you can get through the first book, you may enjoy the others more.
