The Ocean is rising.

"It's gone. It's not coming back. You're not going to have a beach here anymore, and hopefully it doesn't go on. Hopefully it stops," said resident Pat Kennedy.

The foundation of a street light at Northeast 16th court was surrounded by white surf by Friday evening and water was lapping exposed wires.

A lifeguard stand was moved about 100 yards north on the beach. According to city spokesperson Matt Little, each of the towers costs $35,000.

A current shift can also cause a beach to disappear. So can the installation of a jetty. This phenomenon was realized in the 1980s n California. Now also keep in mind that there are places land is rising out of the water...

Change is the only constant and humans need to get that into our collective heads.

Likewise look up the Permian-Triassic Extinction Event. That should send chills down your spine considering Yellowstone is ready to blow at any time like 13 other Super Volcanoes around the world. Always the calm before the storm.

True, many beaches along our coastline undergo constant change. As tides and currents aren't constant, nor are the effects.
