Hi, can anyone help me with this one?

I was emailing back and forth with another mingle user for a few weeks. However, when I click on their profile now, a message tells me that their account has now been deactivated.

What does this mean exactly? WHO deactivated it? Why? Does it mean they don't want to be seen by me? Have they blocked me? Can it be reactivated in the future?

Thanks...

This means that they deactivated their own account for whatever reason. If they only wanted to block you, they would have done so without the necessity to deactivate their account. And yes, if they wish, they can reactivate their account at some future time.

Worry not, for I am sure you will meet some really lovely, genuine and sincere people on here. I do hope so.

Regards.

Deactivations do not come with reasons.
If a member deactivates their account,
they can reactivate it at will.
It has nothing to do with blocking you.

How do i deactivate my account ?

HOW DO I DEACTIVATE (DELETE) MY ACCOUNT?
You would go here to deactivate your profile:
http://mingle2.com/user/show_settings

You may want to go here first, to stop emails:
http://mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings

And to: http://mingle2.com/user/edit_photos
to remove your photos (optional..you may want
to leave them in case you return :-)

This is really weird, but I have been talking to a few people and after a few lines of talking, you go back later and the account is deactivated. I thought they were scams and the site was removing them? Could this be?

Whether the member deactivates or the site removes them, they both show the same deactivated status. The site doesn't discuss these things with others

Hi,

We have a system in place to detect and ban them, and we are working to tweak it every day.

For those asking you to go offsite, be aware, most of them are probably scammers/spammers.

You can report suspected scammers by clicking the 'report abuse' button on any email you have received from them, or by clicking 'report user' on the person's profile.

Thank you

Hello and thank you for your patience,

— If you are a premium member, please be sure to cancel the paid subscription before closing down the Mingle2 account. Otherwise, you may be auto-charged on the auto-renewal date. If you paid with PayPal or if you paid through an app store, make sure the subscription is canceled there.

— In any case, you can close down the Mingle2 account by following this short series of steps: First, in order not to get anymore emails from us, uncheck the boxes on the following page, and click the 'Update Settings' button.
http://mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings
http://m.mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings (mobile site)

Then, you should remove any description that you added to your profile and purge all photos that you have uploaded.

Finally, you will want to deactivate the account, which will remove your profile from public view. You can do this here:
http://mingle2.com/user/show_settings
http://m.mingle2.com/users/exit_survey (mobile site)

— If you are using our app, close down the account by going into Settings. From there, click 'Email Address' and make sure that both Mail Settings options are toggled off. After doing that, back out and reenter Settings again. Choose the 'Deactivate your account' option and follow the easy steps that will be presented to you.

When you have taken the appropriate steps above, the account will be closed and you will be unsubscribed.

Hello and thanks for your patience,

It is not an option to delete a Mingle2 account. If left deactivated, though, its profile will no longer be visible to anybody. To deactivate the account, complete the short checklist below...

In order not to get anymore emails from us, you will want to log into the account, uncheck the options on the appropriate page below, and click the 'Update Settings' button.
http://mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings
http://m.mingle2.com/inbox/mail_settings (mobile devices)

Next, you may want to remove any descriptive text that you added to your profile (i.e., replace it with nonsensical text) and delete any photos.

Finally, you will want to deactivate the account on the appropriate page below, which will remove your profile from public view.
http://mingle2.com/user/show_settings
http://m.mingle2.com/users/exit_survey (mobile devices)

Once you taken all of the above steps, the account will be canceled and you will be unsubscribed.
