"Heroes may not be braver than anyone else. They're just braver five minutes longer." - Reagan

No, I'm not a huge Reagan fan. Yes, I did first see this quote in Call of Duty. No, I can't think of anything more clever than this quote to say. Yes, I'm about to ramble anyway (hey, that rhymed).

A hero, by definition, stands out and has been acknowledged. I don't think that the only heroes are those that gain that status of admiration from physical acts, but could include someone such as Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla that enlightened the world to new possibilities.

In a sense, a hero is only as valuable as is agreed upon by a moral or philosophical code.

A hero is any person who, when they see another in grave danger, acts without thinking of themselves to protect or save that person...smitten

To me a hero is anyone who goes above or beyond what is required of them.

A hero risks being harmed personally in order to protect another person.

someone who cares for the well being of others,
regardless of the hurdles he may have to overcome,
doesn't keep count.
and is actually happy to do it.

No. This is a sandwich:

yes I like that definition because it is not always bravado...there are quite heroes too....who just do things in a way that can be admired in a loyal way everyday
