Oh! Yu've even Said it all, yu are Very Cautious and it's a Good thing atimes, but in this thing Called Relationship, yu have 2 be Open 2 Absorb Comers (yeah, not all Comers). Being too Cautious is always Like a Brick wall in the Eyes of Men I totally understand that... but a wise, cautious, and patient man will understand my trepidation, and if he wants to be with me bad enough he will figure out how to get past my defenses...  I Think as Men get Older, even tho they Get Wiser, they Get way way Less Patient in Chasing. It's Prob'ly a bad thing, but We don't Do it on Purpose I'm sure |

I'm not sure if the online dating sites are good or bad. On one hand you get to know someone first through email and chatting before you actually go out with them and hopefully there are pics so you can be honest about a physical attraction without hurting their feelings. If you don't find someone attractive or interesting you don't reply, if you do you meet up and see if there is chemistry. It's also better and safer then trying to pick up someone or let someone pick you up from places likes bars or dance halls. On the other hand you can't get a sense of who they really are until you meet and sometimes you meet a bad one who uses the sites just to get close to a woman and try to take advantage of them.

I know what you mean about taking our chances meeting strangers... whether online or in person we never really know what people will end up being like after we get comfortable enough to really let our hair down. but I enjoy the dating sites forums to get to know both men and women for friendship too.. |

My current hesitation comes from a recent experience. I met a guy for coffee from another dating site. The initial date went really well and I agreed to a 2nd date. We went out for dinner the next day and as we were walking back to the vehicles he tried to force himself on me. If I had not been a strong willed and capable woman i might have had a very bad experience. As it was I was left with bad memories and stopped signing on to my dating sites for a while and had to delete my profile from the site I found him on.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, DragonFlame... i'm glad you were able to defend yourself and get away unharmed... it's exactly these kind of experiences that worry me... i know it was necessary to zone out for a while to think and calm down before you could give dating another try... but I'm glad you didn't let that creep keep you down for long... next time I'm sure you'll take different steps to get to where you want to go... peace to you...
