Experience isn't necessary, common sense is!.... Jessy's crutch people!!...It's not that hard!...Social skills should be "firmly" in place by the time a "boy or girl" graduates high school...Who wants to date someone who doesn't know how to date?whoa ...And knowing how to date doesn't have a damn thing to do with knowing how to kiss....although a good kisser can take the sting off a chitty date...

Yeah, they didn't actually teach dating at my high school, so that's probably why I'm still single.

Well, you seem to be taking it for granted that everyone gets dating experience at high school, or that if you don't then you're an undatable loser as far as I can tell from that post.

We read very different things in that post, then. She said social skills should be in place by the time someone graduates high school. I think that's true.

I don't know. I think that common sense tends to grow from life experience. I don't really remember a lot of dating going on in my high school. I think most of it happened in the hallways, lunch room and the occasional school mixer. laugh I mean kids went out with their steady on Friday nights, but when the football game ends at 9, and curfew is at 10...it was all about kissing for us. smooched

Who said anything about "teaching" social skills in high school?...You seem to be mistakenly applying your opinions and feelings about the topic to my words just for arguments sake......Dating, social skills, and common sense were not formally "taught" in my high school either.....Dating was a very big part of my high school experience though and I anticipated reaching age 16 because that was the age my parents deemed suitable for unchaperoned dating...So Tawt, by the time I graduated highschool, I had a pretty good grip on the three R's, the D, the CS, and the SS....

Dating and kissing are a lot like swimming.

Most of the learning comes from getting wet!

Well, good for you. What's "chaperoned dating" if it isn't adults supervising or organising it?

Yeah, dating is a big part of the high school experience and there's social pressure to be doing that. I have no clue what your post was meant to be about but it's a fact that some kids learn social skills at that age and go out on dates and school proms and all of that jazz and for other kids puberty is a horrible confusing time and they are just moody teenagers that think that the last thing that they want is to be socialised and chaperoned into a common sensical model of how people are supposed to behave.
