I purposely did not put this in well wishes because I will be fine.

I had pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in the lungs) years ago while on the BC pill. I lost about 15% of my lung capacity. I ask people to please not smoke around me because it is like I have extremely severe asthma.

Two friends were watching a ball game and lit up while I was sleeping in the other room. It has been over a week and I have been to the doctor twice including a visit to urgent care today for breathing treatments.

The two friends say I am being dramatic, to get off my anti-smoking soap box, and I just do not like the smell which is NOT true so I dumped them as friends.

now, they are acting like I am a biotch. Well, my doctor even said he would be soooooo pizzed if someone did that to him because whether or not they believed me, it's my house and what I say should go.

Thoughts??

Friends don't do things like they did, so they really weren't your friends. I'd have dumped them too.

With "friends" like those, who needs enemies?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

I am fine BTW. Just went for one of those albuterol breathing treatments which for a light weight like me are like doing a high ball of cocaine or something. While some might like that, I DO NOT like jittering for 2 hours straight. But I can breathe again.

I'm a "respectful smoker" If someone with me don't smoke, I will not, even in my own truck. I've ridden with folks who don't smoke in their cars & told me I could If I cracked the window but didn't. That's just how I roll

I don't think people who do smoke know how painful it is for those who are allergic to it. How hard it is for us to catch our breath and the panic that comes from not being able to do so.

Oh jeez, I *so* hear you on that! I had a pulmonary function test a little over a year ago and the albuterol treatment that was part of it had me jittering, too. I have an albuterol inhaler for those extremely rare occasions when I need one (I don't quite have asthma, but sometimes I can react to things as though I do) and that doesn't do it to me, but the amount in a treatment is enough to have me bouncing off the walls, ceiling, and things that aren't even there. surprised

Agreed. Even the smell of smoke on someone's clothes or hair will make me sick to my stomach. I wish everyone would just switch to the smokeless cigarettes and save us some grief.
