I am pregnant and single... the father left soon after i found out that i was pregnant... not that i am too concerned with him... now as i am looking for someone to date alot of people think i am looking for a father for my son... this is not the case at all! It is a lonely road i am on and i would like to find a man that understands that i do not need a step dad for my child but i would like someone to spend time with! Am i wrong for wanting to date?

Am i wrong for wanting to date?

Yes.

You should be focused on the baby you are bringing into this world, focused on what you can do before the baby is borned to have a better life after. Not focused on having someone to date.

Sorry to be harsh, but I must keep it REAL!. That's who I am.

WELCOME to Mingle!!

i felt free in order to choose

when i met my son dad
he accepted my daughter

Queene123 is right!

So, If your focused is you and your unborn. I guess it wouldn't be a problem.

i do understand glg's view on this. yes i am more concerned with the well being of my child. but while i am waiting for him to come can i not also look out for my own happiness? for over two years i have been what you would call "single" one night i drank too much and made a bad choice as to who i slept with. i am not the kind of girl that does this but i did once and ended up pregnant. and it is not like i am saying the guy must be part of my son's life in fact until any man can prove not to be a threat and he can show that he is stable around children i wouldn't let him around my son at all. my baby is my first concern, but being alone sucks pregnant or not!

Hopefully the happiness you are looking for, will come from raising your son.

Yes, it would be nice to have someone to share that with, and I wish you the best!

Being alone does suck, but sometimes that's life and you have to make the best of it.

You have to find something else to keep your mind busy so you won't trip on how alone you are.

Everytime I found myself in that funk, I educated myself on something.

Now I'm so damn smart and skilled, I have a whole different set of problems. But worring about being alone is not one.

You deserve to be in a loving relationship as much as anyone else ;) I just reckon some men may back off more than other's, because they think they will get dragged into the drama of a divorce, or the drama of the father wanting custody of the child. Any men feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about that. It's simply a guess. I think the same about why some women sometimes don't wanna date single fathers.

I suspect that you will be in less and less of a mood to date the further along in your pregnancy you are.

wow i'm in the exact same boat as you! >_<
I know how you feel. I won't put a guy before my baby boy. I love this baby more than I thought I could. I do want to meet someone though and I think it shouldn't be wrong to at least try.
Don't give up

----
A typical situation between need and rationality.
to me, a female can better understand then a man about the peculiarity of the situation so dating with a man can not be a solution but you may be lucky enough to find a man who does not believe in dating but respect your situation.
good luck baby---------
