Topic: Do women on this site really want to date????????

I don’ thinks so and here is why…

I asked 10 local ladies that do frequent this site, all in my age group and all have read their mail...if they wanted to have coffee with me.

Now I know the good Lord did not endow me with good looks, wit or charm but you would think that at least 1 out of 10 would want to verify that I do suck or on the outside chance, I don’t suck and at the very least would want a free cup of coffee.

Not only did I not get any takers but only one of them was kind enough to respond at all.

Now there is one of two things going on here.
1. Either I am the grossest most fowl man in all of phoenix.
2. The women here don’t really want to date. They would rather talk to a man 1000 miles away and have a fantasy and illusion of love than have a chance of the real thing.

I pick #2 as I have a kind soul, great heart and am as hot as hell.

Which do you all pick 1 or 2??????

This could possibly be the biggest game on the web. It's not just you! I've been 'approached', only to reply in a friendly manner only to be 'DISSED! laugh laugh In all actuality the best way to meet someone is to go out and about. But I like this forum tho, lots of funny people on here! laugh laugh
Besides, what's wrong with doin a little 'window shopping', huh girls? laugh laugh happy

Agreed GG, this is just a small part of the bigger plan but it is so moronic to be on a dating site and not be willing to date. It is not like I am asking them to come to my bedroom and spread their legs. I am suggesting COFFEE and a second to see if there is a spark. To know me is to love me and to not take a second to get to know somebody is just sad.

I have only visited this site a few times, but I don't think that I would ever be brave enough to actually meet someone that I have chatted with online (perhaps after several months of chatting). I am sure that it was nothing personnal (but I don't know the women you ask out). There are just too many mean people out there, and we do not know who to trust. As in some of the other forums: PEOPLE LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING.

cvaughn, far be it for me to understand a women but the only thing I can figure out is the fantasy and illusion of having somebody even if they are 1000 miles away is safer for them and meets some emotional need until they are ready for real relationship.

Just a thought and I am sure I am way wrong.

Don't know any more.

Hello Ron!!

You can rule out #1 most assuredly, because you are a sweet handsome guy. Otherwise I wouldn't have given you that testimonial.

And I can agree with you about people in every area not responding to locals, I only had one guy ask me out and then he backed out. Other locals asked me for quickies before work, so I decided to look elsewhere...And I have found him.

Good luck to you in your search!flowerforyou

I'm not sure which is the lesser of two evils when someone writes and there is no interest on the other end. On one hand, I guess it can seem rude if one doesn't respond, but on the other hand, it's always very awkward to actually write back and admit not having interest when someone is being nice and expressing interest in you. It's a tough one.

I don't see anyone local but I'm up here for cool chats. I don't expect to find anyone seriously...laugh

And it doesn't help that this site has a FORUM!!! laugh laugh You wind up being friends more than anything else, mainly because you share your thoughts and opinions about usually-taboo subjects and that may frighten people off.

*Wonders why inbox is empty* laugh laugh laugh

believe it or not most women on this site do want to date but they aren't going to meet you after one email. if you asked them out for coffee as an ice breaker you may want to say something else.

And goofy,

I would rather be told that I as a fowl, ugly peace of dog **** that you would not be seen in public with rather than just being ignored and blown off.

Not to say that coming to the above conclusion without meeting the person is just sad beyond belief

i know people feel that it is awkward but i never understood why someone would feel awkward telling someone that they were not interested. especially being on the internet where you don't have to be face to face with someone. that doesn't sound good.

Hey! I love the forums!

iRon-I have got to ask something. If it is none of my business, please tell me. Are you asking them out for coffee/meet and greet in the initial email?

I recently made a friend online who would want to jump right to instant messaging off site instead of exchanging friendly emails on site first. Some girls (and guys, too) like to take it slow to get a feel of a person before meeting.

I always try to respond to emails even if I am not interested. That is just me. I don't like it when my emails are ignored. I don't think anyone does.

One of the things that first attracted me to my new beau, was how respectful and friendly he was on IM and email. Plus really good spelling and grammar. Even Marie would have been impressed (GRIN!). He let me take it at my speed when we went off the site we met on, talked on the phone, then met.

Okay, enough me being schmoopie about him. I sometimes digust myself. Ha!
