do you think it will make an impact in your life?

For me yes,
The impact could be that one paycheck to the bottom falling out for me

Unfortunately, it will be a setback for many. But leave it to the Politicians to play Politics.

Definitely will impact my life, but life goes on and we need to rise to the occasion whatever it may take. I retired early to be able to enjoy at least a couple of years of not working my b*** off, but if I have to go back to work, so be it. I will make it no matter what.

I tend to agree with you.

I have always wanted to be part of the solution and not part of the problem (though about politics), but there are so many politicians that have just ruined the entire idea

Many do not care what is good for the People they govern.

It won't have any immidiate impact on me.
The one thing I don't like about it is our elected officials threaten soldiers and those and those on SS that they won't get paid if it happens just to push their agenda of what one side wants and make the other side look like bad guys.
They are all the bad guys!
Don't threaten those who have worked for what is owed them.
Politicians need to not be paid for not doing their jobs!!!!
It's their job to pass a budget and I can't remember the last time they did that. Passing a Continuing Resolution to keep government running isn't doing their job!
They all need to go and get fresh new faces in who acctually care about our country and not just their jobs.

You have covered it all.....I hate when government use scare tatics to move the public vote one way or the other.....Yes, we need more who care and less who are playing with our country.

Oddly, many don't realize that he shutdown is only about spending money we don't have. The issue is only about borrowing more money instead of only spending what revenues the US takes in.

Our country was founded because the citizens refused "taxation without representation". The money involved in the "shutdown" or raising the debt limit is money that will have to be paid back by our grandchildren, not us. The grandchildren never voted to elect any of these bozos in Washington.

Countries all over the world, cities in the US, and individuals spend themselves into bankruptcy. The result isn't pretty and the US is headed down that road with no turns in sight.

Interest rates have been artificially held down by the Federal Reserve Bank by printing tons of paper money. When that stops ... as it must, the interest rates will rise and the interest payments on the trillions of dollars owed by the US will take a major bite out of all services provided. It isn't going to be pretty is an understatement.

You are 100% right! It's a mess now and getting uglier by the minute!
