I am going to chime in on this one. Men hide behind their keyboards and mice and roam this site like idiots. Womanly respect has gone to ***l in a hand basket. Makes it bad for the good men to even be noticed. Of course, they can not be stopped because the net is full of them from everywhere. One suggestive word or phrase brings them out. Sad but true!!!

In a civilized community people don't act that way. On Mingle in open forums where I think our Moderators do a pretty good job keeping people within fairly civil standards it can give a false sense of safety. You can put up an alluring photo and write a profile that is articulate and even slightly flirty and people will act pretty friendly in the forums.

Unfortunately that "Check" stops at the door of your email box. Then you are on your own in the world wide wild web world. Think of it as walking alone into some dark bar in a really bad neighborhood where the value of women is often poorly respected.

If you go in in conservative clothes and minimal make up and walk up to the bartender you have a shot at having someone talk to you in passable terms maybe walk you back out to your car if you ask. The likely hood is someone will only be a jerk and give you the up and down that gives you the creeps and go back to their drink.

If you go in the same bar dressed smoldering, with lush lipstick, and say anything even slightly sexy especially introducing yourself with a name that sounds like it came off a porn sight all bets are off.

Not because any of these guys even remotely think they have a chance with you that is not forced on you they resent that you have invaded their little miserable world. In an email they have a free shot at busting on you. If you add the fact that at least a percentage of the thousands looking have been dismissed by every woman who has seen them that week if not longer setting at home where they may or may not be in their bedroom, alone, in their underwear or less, flipping through porno sites, half crocked the chances you are going to get the kind of insults you have.

Sadly you could look like a nun and get some comments but being conservative and smart and a little more approachable you will get enough nice mail you will find it a lot easier to toss the vulgar ones.

In a fair world you would be able to turn into Wonder Woman and school the toads in the preverbal bar or on here but repeating their abuse will probably just put a target on your back for more abuse. If you don't let them get your goat hopefully cutting them off will stop it.

For the record being a little plain has never hurt my responses but when I put up certain photos (glamor shots), it becomes a real pig fest.
