... My best friends tell me when I do visit Amsterdam to go to Rembrandt Square and visit Mr. Coco's lousy food and warm Beer. They said it was one of the best places the ate at when they were out seeing my brother.

No idea. Kind of like talking to an American that lives in Kansas City about a local small restaurant in NY laugh
Less than 50% of inhabitants of Amsterdam is Dutch noway

Amsterdam is a tourist trap. Been there a few times.

The dope isn't cheaper than it is here and there's just more variety.

From what I heard, you need a membership card if you want to buy it from a coffee shop now, which means you have to keep going to the same coffee shop if you don't want to buy more membership cards for other coffee shops I think.

The bud is strong but not really stronger than what you can buy here. The ready rolled joints are crap and it must just have been that your mate couldn't handle a smoke.

Amsterdam used to be cool in the old days but now if you go into a coffee shop the music they play in them is that Europop crap and you can't find a psychadelic coffee shop anymore. Best you can hope for is somewhere where they play regge. I used to drink in a pub that was right in the middle of the red light district and it was cool. No tourists, no milk shakes and no Europop crap. Just Dutch bikers and football fans and they played decent music. Last time we were there though it was rather quiet and I found out from someone that there had been a murder there.

Everyone who I usually talk to on the forum.

That was kind of what I was saying. I was just trying to be more funny about. hehehe

SO you talk to yourself then?if you are saying
what Rawrr is saying and you want to meet your
self you say.

Izzy makes my crazy/eccentric/offbeat list
along with Fear & red6mist & his altar ego lawgiver
lol
Izzy have you noticed Every time the thread
is a little edgey and you and I jump on there, it
get pulled in an hour. Lol

some of the things you say can make my skin crawl
so I call you icky ....lol

My British girls list:
Rawrr_girl & shygirl
I get a laugh out of both of them:wink:
I get a kick out of shy's Journalling
its just true journalling to me,healthy, just letting her thoughts go. Sometimes the questions
must take her back to an experience or has a very
vivid imagination as she will star writing in the
first person at times opposed to answering the question..its like a good trip.
maybe put her on my crazy/eccentric list too. waving

I have a couple of people I would like to meet. I chat with them in private and send emails to them...such sweet guys. There are a couple of the girls I would also like to meet, but I just don't get out much so it will probably never happen.
Plus there are a few that if I see in a forum, I usually don't even say anything because I become annoyed with her. blushing

I'm not annoyed with anyone and I hope no one is annoyed with me.

Well, Amsterdam is a strrange place but you are safe enough if you stay out of the red light district and just want to visit art galleries or spend your time in the club district.

It's true that the red light district is huge and that it's only when you get to the canals that there are brothels and drug pushers on every street corner but gangs roam the red light district and the police may patrol it but only in a very minimal way.

One time we were walking along a street on the outskirts of the red light district and there were these guys taking heroin right out in the open. The guy that I was with was a junkie and he stopped to talk to them. There was a store opposite and it was only a one way street. A cop car drove slowly by and didn't stop. A man and a woman came out of the door next to where we were and they were just normal folks and they didn't even bat an eyelid because junkies chasing smack right out in the open is nothing unusual there.

Anyway, as I was saying, the last time I was there I heard that there had been a murder in that pub that I used to drink in when I was in Amsterdam. Don't know who was murdered or what it was about but it was probably something to do with football or gang warfare.

Basically, if you go to Amsterdam as a tourist you will get beggars and pushers hassling you and random street people coming up and talking to you. Also, tourists that are either there for drugs or guys on stag holidays. I mean, a stag night is traditional in this country and if a guy is getting married his mates take him out and celebrate his last night of freedom by getting him drunk and there are the prostitutes in Amsterdam.

Thing is, even the Dutch people that live there say that it's a tourist trap and that everything is too expensive. Last time I was in Amsterdam the place was dead. There's absolutely nothing that Amsterdam has to offer that you can't get cheaper elsewhere apart from the art galleries and Anne Frank's house. Didn't decide to go there when I was there. Was wearing my black leather outfit and didn't think that it would have been in good taste.

For myself, I do feel like I'm meeting my friends in person when I come to the pages of mingle.

You know how it is with family and friends where you meet or talk once in a while? It's great and you get caught up, but then most of the time you head back into your own skin. Also for me there is the business side, which I have always done and has it's own life. There's my loves. Than there's Mingle. Since joining mingle I have seen a completely different type of socializing that may happen in other places online, but I haven't seen it, or seen it quite the same as here.

Sometimes when I come to mingle I feel like I've been here 40 some years and feel this as being just as much a part of my life as when this screen is turned off.

I'm not sure if spirit/soul/vibe connections need to necessarily meet in person to be considered "real". To me you are very real and I do feel like I'm in the presence of some of my friends. If we happened to meet face to face that's cool but I'm very content seeing your smiling and witty faces here.

People say "you never know someone till you meet" really? I've met people for years then things happen and find out I never knew them at all. Knowing someone is a life time process, and it's also what I make out of it. Some of the people here I feel I have "learned", I have sensed their being, and they, in my mind, have become my friends. We may not be sitting at the same table, but we are certainly hanging out more often than a once a year or ten.

As for those who do mingle in person, I love reading about your times together and glad you are making time to do this, and that your sharing it with the rest of us. Makes us feel at home. We may not be there, but again maybe we are :)

I have made a number of friends here at Mingle over the years and have had great fun at our annual get togethers. There are many more who I think would be a great joy to meet in person and get to know better.

However, there is one who I have known for years and would love to meet in person. She is very special in many ways... some known to Mingle and some not.

Her name is Kim, also known as yellowrose.

Speaking for myself, I would even be prepared to meet Crystal, and have said so before.

She would doubtless say that she's not interested in meeting me and perhaps say why, as is her want. Nevertheless, I don't really see the harm in it and I just try my best to be nice to people and show them a good time.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not jealous that she likes some other guy more than she likes me. I'm not really bothered about that and won't say anything about him and I'll keep my opinions to myself about that.

Crystal says that she's fed up with me trying to make out that I'm God's gift to women but I never actually said that. Crystal constructs strawman arguments so that she can knock them down. That's fine and it doesn't bother me.

BTW, Somebody in this thread said that they would like to meet me and I thought that was nice. Was speaking to some guys on another forum that tend to doubt the things that I say and call them tall stories. I told them that if they think that I'm a liar that they can come over here and that I'll even meet them in a pub. Same goes for anybody here.

Yes, I know that it might seem that way to you.

I could say to you though that you have been known to jump into threads and reply to my posts and I'm not sure what the difference is because what you say about me is rarely flattering.

Try not to think that it's all about you is my advice. Try to forget about what I said about women fancying me and try to forget about trying to say that they don't.

Try to forget that I'm a man and that you see yourself as some sort of champion of the women's rights movement.

Christmas is coming up soon and it's the season of good will to all men and I'm even prepared to extend that to women on the internet that say that they don't like me.

I think that we can all learn something from the tale of the good Samaritan but beware of false prophets that try to beguile you.

sounds like someone had too much to drink IHMO (in your pub, I mean). I have no interest in Amsterdam. I spent some time in Copenhagen and the Blankenese section of Hamburg (DDR) and would go back to with in a sec - loved it. Actaully I 'd love to see London, Dublin and Cardiff :)

Maybe with either of us making things stop on threads that means we are coolers. hahaha
