Don't rush into marriage those things take time. You have to know a person for a long time for you both decide that this is what you want. There are so many other people out there for you to explore. Get to know more people and you never know someone else may come that could be better. Also from you being from Nigeria some may think that your trying to scam so just give it time. I also think that someone outside of your country might not even respond stay with in your own country to find love.

First loves aren't necessarily meant to lead to marriage. I once read (and agree with) that the teenage / adolescence love and infatuations are basically a way of finding out what you want, whom you click with and so on. Comes down to getting to know yourself and what you are like as a partner and in a relationship.
Once you've found out about that all, you can make a better choice for a steady partner, one whom you might marry and raise a family with.
Kind of logical. You can't expect a girl to go straight from Barbie dolls (and a boy from Lego and Playmobil) to being an adult, mature partner. It's a learning curve, that's what teenage years / adolescence are for.

If you skip that phase, you'll have to explore it later on. You often see that couple that got together age 14-15, end up divorcing around age 30, then go nuts dating etc. Hence going through this 'test phase'.
The unfortunate thing is, that at that point in life, there's often children involved. But yeah, life is life and things go the way they go

Because most often first loves really aren't love at all.

because these days people are more into physical intimacy and call it love because they dont know what true love means...

More likely it's because these dayswomen aren't forced into marriage and due to the wonders of technology you aren't limited to just marrying someone that lives in the same village as you do and grew up with.

this is so true, we have been romanticized and desensitized so much by media and the media image of 'love', with fewer and fewer in tact families to example the realities of what marriage takes

I think a growing number keep expecting that kind of love that's physical chemistry every day, and liking each other every day, and being the perfect person every day,, and when those things don't happen,,,or when its gonna take work to maintain them,, people are on to the next person who (Temporarily) once again seems to fit their perfect mold,,

I have a saying,, because you never felt it before , doesn't mean its love

it could be your first bout with heartburn or someone could have spiked your drink,,lol
