I actually met someone from New Zealand. We talked on the computer for awhile then talked on the phone. After a year we decided to finally meet. He flew here to Indiana and stayed 2 weeks and then I flew to New Zealand and stayed 18 days.
It was wonderful but you can't keep a relationship going when you are 9000 miles apart. When I left there, I came back to Indiana with a ring....he promised to wait for me until I returned to New Zealand and would become his Kiwi bride.
It was great until my ex filed kidnapping charges on me, if I would have tried to leave the states with my boys then I would have been in lots of trouble. brokenheart

Poly...anymore you can't even move out of state with your kids. He didn't move here because he hated Indiana. Plus all of his family was there in New Zealand...also he had a great job. Then when we started looking into him moving here, it was very complicated getting someone into the US.
I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

True Lakeman...but I can't blame their dad!! He was spending lots of time with the boys and he refused to give up his time with his kids. I guess that just goes to show that there are some good dads out there.

Poly...we have moved on!! It was hurting both of us to much to talk to each other. We knew we wanted to be together but couldn't so we just had to end everything...sucks but things happen

Oh ..I totally agree unsure...that's what I mean't by someone will get hurt. In this case it's you getting hurt for not being able to move but it shelters the kids and the EX by keeping them within a reasonable visitation distance.

unsure, it is good that you ex cares that much about your kids. My sons dad hasn't even called to see about him in 9 years.

Yep I guess someone always gets hurt!!
I am sure that one day he will regret not seeing his son Poly. All you can do is show your son how much you care about him everyday. I guess I got lucky with my ex...esp when I read some of these threads. There are good men out there that do love their children...I am just lucky that I have one of those!!!

Friday night I asked the question "where do single men hang out" and no one responded that they are in OTHER COUNTRIES.
I think that it is really neat that we can meet people from other countries on the internet though.
