Hello All, I lost a very good friend yesterday, she was diagnosed with liver cancer 5 weeks ago she. The doctors had started chemotherapy a week after the diagnosis but it was stopped because of the far gone condition of her liver, and besides the cancer had spread to other internal organs.Although I am very upset about this, I also have to be brave for her daughter Teresa, who has been my daughter's closest friend ever since play group days.My daughter and Patricia's girl have a very close bond, and so when Patricia discovered that she was dying, her wish was for Teresa to come live with me, Teresa has never known her father ( I know that at the age of 18 she is an adult) Teresa however, does not want to be parted from my girl.So, overnight I have become a mum again.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Your friend was very blessed to have you in her life and to be so willing to take care of her daughter. I have friends like you, who would do that, and I thank God for them every day.

Thanks to you all for the vote of confidence,I am only doing what I know Patricia would have done if it had been the other way round. I have always loved Teresa as my own daughter, yes, I am sad that she will be living with us under these circumstances. Before her mum passed, she had expressed that she was very happy indeed that Teresa would be with me and my daughter, Michael is tickled pink too.I also taught Teresa in the last school I worked in, so we have a long history. She is a good girl, she has never known her father and so has never met her grand parents from her father's side and her mother's parents are deceased, her aunt died last year ( she also had cancer) The doctor's have now said that Teresa should be tested for the same strain of cancer because they believe it is hereditary. I ask for prayers for this beautiful young lady, who will need a lot of love and attention.
