NEW YORK - Federal prosecutors unsealed a criminal complaint Thursday charging Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu with breaking campaign finance laws and creating a "massive" pyramid scheme.

The complaint says Hsu — who raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton and others — violated campaign finance laws by making contributions to candidates in other people’s names and perpetrated a pyramid scheme to defraud victims across the United States of more than $60 million.

A pyramid scheme refers to a fraudulent operation where investors are offered high short returns to attract new investors in a model also referred to as a "Ponzi scheme."

I find it ammusing that none of the liberal gang had bothered to post a comment on this bit of news. I get the feeling that a double standard may exist. If the name was Bush instead of Clinton and the party Republican instead of Democrat my guess is the libs would be on this like buzzards on a road kill. Am I right or far right? laugh

You are wrong, Gardenforge.
It might be old age on your part that you either missed or ignored it. I posted it a while ago.

Easy answer. What Hsu did was wrong--he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Hillary Clinton and any other Democratic candidate who received any of this money should give it ALL back. It's not enough to give back a portion--gotta give it all up.

Hey, I lean left, but wrong is wrong. Political affiliation is no excuse for criminal acts. Actually, wouldn't Hillary and the others keeping these contributions be akin to "receiving stolen property"?

Politics is a down in the mud dirty business. People like Hsu make it even dirtier.

Hillary is evil, crooked, and lies as much as Bush, but that still doesnt take away from the evil of the neo-con representative Bush!

If she becomes President we will have went from a leadership of evil liars to dumb-ass liars! Not much difference except for the illegal war will end!drinker drinker

Is there some place I can go to buy my own Ponzi? Because 40 million bucks sounds pretty good about now. Can we modify things a little so it is legal? I wouldn't want to break any laws.

Make this offer to people: Give me $10 today and I'll give you $20 in two weeks. Eventually, you will have so many people giving you $10 that you can't pay them back. That's a Ponzi scheme in a nutshell. It's also a great way to get rich, because people are stupid and greedy.
