Can you live happily without one if you have tons of the other?

Trust, Money, Power, Respect, Honor, all these things are important. However, currency in whatever form, is the most valuable because you can EASILY trade it for the basics like food and shelter.

Trust and respect can also gain you food and shelter.

true,,,

impossible choice because their purpose is so different

money is REQUIRED to live,,somewhere somehow,, to get food or travel or have shelter,,, money is required to LIVE( even in bartering , at least one participant had to have MONEY for the resources being traded)

money is not the same kind of necessity in personal relationships though

in personal relationships, trust is more important, as without it, all the money in the world wont make the relationship work,, unless the underlying motivation is material in nature,,,

honestly I am not sure I "trust" these kinds of questions. It's as tho it is some kind of trap to say if you want money you are somehow a bad person. I don;t think it is a realistic question. There is no either/or. I definitely want money. So does anyone who is honest.

That does not mean trust, love or any relationship values have to be sacrificed.

I suppose the similarity here is that both have to be earned. Most people can make a living and earn money for material things. Yet no matter how much money they have, trust can't be bought

Money can be replaced. Once trust is gone it's GONE! The same goes for faithfulness and respect!

I've never had tons of money, but I've heard people that do say its hard to know who to trust because they could be close to you just to get your money.

I couldn't imagine being happy with tons of money if I always had to live in fear of who to trust.

Personally, I'd love to have tons of money to be able to experience what life is like for the people that do. But I'd also love to be able to trust the friends I have at the top would be the same ones I'd have at the bottom too.

I guess I can't really say which is more valuable until I've experienced them both to the same degree. slaphead

Trust has no inherit value...The value in trust is the value a person sees in it, but it cannot be quantified.

Arguably, money has no inherit value either...For mostly the same reasons.
