It's nice if a guy emails first but, it's ok if I email him also...Yes, one of the first things that I look at I how tall they are! Then I look if they smoke or have kids.....then what he has to say in his profile!

if there's a few things I don't like about him ill give him the opportunity but, I'm petty cautious about who I meet online these day's!

there is cyber world and real world

in both worlds, I prefer men be the 'hunter' and make the first move,,,that kind of confidence is an immediate plus

in cyber world, I look in the photo and the name for signs of different values: like if they are constantly partying, drinking, posing with the shirt off, doing some sport, holding a gun,,,,,referencing sex or material posssessions a lot

in real world, I have a preference for 'menly' looking men. By that I mean broad shoulders, masculine facial features, The kind that couldn't trick you into thinking he was a female by simply putting on a dress and wig,,,or by putting on tight jeans and walking away...lol

I also observe ones character, their sense of humor and intelligence and compassion and humility and confidence,, how they treat others,,,,,

Whoever messages first gets a cookie for effort.

I like a man to initiate contact.
I pay attention to what he says. You can tell a lot from that: communication skills, intelligence, what he's after etc.

If his picture appeals to me, I first check how tall he is.

If available I check his star-sign.

I check his marital status (many are in an open relationship or marriage).

Level of education

I look at all pictures, which often reveals he's a lot older and fatter than in his profile picture.
