I did have a few other scars, but I had plastic surgery ( scar revision) done, and barely visible now

I've got a few from my days as a Boxer, when I was in my teens and on my legs also from playing semi-pro football ( soccer )

Truth then...

I've got a 1/4" deep depression in my right leg the size of a dime. I got it by slamming my shin into the trailer hitch on the back of the truck, and, like a man, I let it bleed until I got home and never went to get the appropriate stitches put into it.

I have a scar that is on the outside of my left thigh from when I was a kid. I was climbing into the back of a truck, the tailgate was down and I slipped. My leg caught the latch that locks the tailgate to the bed. It didn't hurt much and barely bled but it left a scar. Now am more careful about the shoes I wear when I climb into the back of a truck.laugh

When I was 8, I was in the kitchen boiling water and as I was carrying this pot of boiling water to the sink, I drop it on my foot. I was wearing shoes that were double-knotted so it took time to get one off..then my dad started reading a book about what to do..eventually he put ice (never put ice on a serious burn, soak in cool water instead, not even running water) on it and drove me to the hospital 5 minutes away..I used crutches for a month and thanks to whatever cream they used it's barely noticeable now, it was a 2nd degree burn.

More recently they use something called flaminal, I had to see the doctor daily to get my burn sorted. The flaminal draws the burn out, and now Im using hydrocortisone which smoothes it down.

I remember the doctor told me there was silver in it..I will try to look it up.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_sulfadiazine
But what they use today should be even better.

I have a lot of scars. Mostly grease burns. My arms, my face, my breast. I have some cigarette burn scars. I have three scars on my foot and ankle from a dog bite. I have a scar under my knee from where I was playing in a junk yard and ran a wire into my leg. I have a huge chicken pox scar under my eyebrow. Dropped my grandmas punch bowl on my foot when I was little and almost lost my big toe that left a good scar! Have a scar on my back where I got hung under a barbed wire fence snow sledding. One on my eye where i ran into a roll out window of a mobile home trailer. Cut my thumb on a cat food can. My best scar on my stomach it goes from hip to hip from an emergency C section.

waving Carrie! Scars can be permanent reminders: to be more careful next time, or of beautiful moments like childbirth. Sometimes a scar can be a badge of survival. One thing they all have in common is a unique personal story of the life experience that created them.

Sounds like you're as tough as you are sweet.

All of my scars are a badge of survival, each one has its own story, which I would only share with someone close to me. flowerforyou
