There is a Muslim guy I chat with, and he said when he has children he wouldn't discipline them, and that would be the mothers job, why is that?

And do Muslim men have a lot of respect for there wife? Some other guy here said that muslim men have illegal sex, He didn't elaborate when I asked.

Would a Muslim man holds his wife's hand in public?

And can a Muslim man only marry a muslim woman? Because the man I talk to, said he would marry someone who wasn't a Muslim. So if he married a non Muslim, what religion would the child be bought up as?

Sorry for all the questions. But I really want to learn about this.

Thanks estelle and carebear flowerforyou

Be very careful Debbie. Some muslim are more extreme than others. Muslim men can marry a Jewish or Christian woman. There are some areas where public affection even between husband and wife is frowned on even just holding hands. As far as how your children are raised that's a great discussion between you and the fella your talking to. Its important to know who you let into your life. Ask questions no matter how stupid you think it may be. Pay attention to how his/her family lives.

Thankyou so much for that, I am asking questions. flowerforyou

Traditionally Muslims and other Middle Easterners are similar to Europe and the US, because all are patriarchal/sexist cultures traditionally. Basically it all means the same thing for men and women and their relationships, men are on top, women on the bottom.

So how does the woman get treated then?

Sorry if these questions are stupid, I know nothing, and I need to know.

Well Debbie, this will be good.
My guess is, it's because Islam has its own way of treating women.
The Prophet Mohamed did not like the colour black and that's why Muslim women wear it. Says it all.

How do they treat women?? I'm really want to know this

Muslim, Christian , Jewish, Atheist....doesn't matter. There are good people an there are bad people. Men who abuse an men who cherish. If you find a man who really loves an fears God or just respects and has a good heart.. he will cherish you. Just take your time getting to know people. See how they treat their family, others around them, animals. Good people do good deeds.
RCB, i worked in London, before and there's a lot of Muslims down there believe me. I've heard Muslim fathers down there telling their teenage to go out and shag the white girls, but to always come back to their own kind though to get married. Just keep that in mind and stop being so naive?

I don't believe telling someone to get to know the person your talking to is naive. Thanks for your concern though.

I just want to learn about this, thankyou. flowerforyou

You should do if you come from the Midlands Debbie? As the Midlands are choc-a-block with them!

I agree. I worked in Qatar for 4 years and Dubai for donkeys years and their racism towards Indians and other nationalitys is shocking. Slave labour is all it is.
Then there's the nightclubs. Full of them with prostitutes.

So are you saying a married Muslim man isn't faithful? And that he has sex with a prostitues?

Not where I live, there isn't any, I live in a small village, obviously I can't say where on the forum.

There's a lot on birmingham, but I don't live there. And seriously I've never got chatting with a Muslim before.

I edited my previous post.
Also, it is true that white women are a turn on to Middle Eastern men, because we are different than their women. They will not only want white women for sex though, we are a novelty and many of them want to make us their wives. I think it's not a very good idea because there will be more opportunity for the man to objectify us and thereby have an easier time hurting us. That's why even though I live in the Middle East and I'm a very white woman, I would never marry one of them. I also would not marry a Western man, and I am used to a culture where women are respected for being mothers and wives, but would be expected to be the provider as well in the West. I never will marry since I will never fit in in either place. The easiest thing for you would be to stick with the men in your own culture, they will love you the most and treat you with the most human dignity.

Not all Muslim men. In fact I do know some who are great guys. But I'm saying that meeting one on a dating site is asking for trouble. You would not know enough about him to know exactly how strict he is.
He may turn out to be a great guy but then who wants to play Russian roulette with their future and their children's future.

Bear I'm not having a go at you, so please don't think that.
For me it's just too risky.
You said yourself 'that's why you take your time and really get to know the person'.
I don't think you can really get to know the person on the internet, and not even after a dozen dates.

There are some men who appear great outside in public, but behind closed doors they are animals, and I'm talking western men here.

So what chance have you got of really getting to know someone online, it's about risk and the risk is too great with regard to Muslim men in some far off land.

Well I'm not sure what to think about that...I'd probably be ready to move on but on the other hand I think maybe it could be an honest answer. Can you promise to be faithful to someone you don't really know? You can say I'll try. Everyone falls short. Just be aware of all he says pay even closer attention to his actions. People spout off i love you at the drop of a hat these days and make promises but they never move.
