Every society has their own special way of being sexist. It is obvious the westerners here ignore their own brand of sexism when they make fun and question another society's brand of it. Why can't you all see that it's always wrong to treat women wrong no matter where or how or why? I talk about it all the time, still no one agrees here, but are ready to diss other cultures for the way they mistreat women when it is obvious none of you actually cares about how women are treated badly anyway. In some ways Muslims have more respect for women in some ways less, which is why it is intriguing for western women to want to learn more. For example Muslims revere women as mothers, in the west women are revered for their ability to remain sexy while being able to hang with the guys.

Stoned to death takes some doing though right.
Being found guilty of adultery even though the woman was raped.
Like chalk and cheese.

So are you saying some Muslim men are like this??

I want to know more about their lifestyle and how they treat their wife and children??

Debbie, I would recommend that you read " Girls of Riyadh" by Rajaa Alsanea. It was originally released in Arabic (and banned in Saudi Arabia) but now is available in English. Its based on true life stories of 4 young women who experienced 'love' and relationships differently from each other. You will see that there is really no one answer to your question "how they treat their wives and children".

You'll be surprised to find that these true stories are no different to what you see around you (regarding cultures or even religions).

Plus I work in Riyadh, women here are no different to other women elsewhere in the world. Their day to day family life may be a little bit more restricted (especially when it comes to dating) but everything else (including marriage) is the same as anywhere else.
Why don't you tell the truth, that you treat women with contempt in Islam, cos you class them as 2nd class citizens? ,Out of sight and out of mind, as everything is geared up for the males, to enjoy, not the babymaking machine who is stuck at home all the time, isn,'t it?

Messi, I don't treat women here any different to any other woman in any part of the world ... Why? Because I AM a woman myself. Plus I'm not married. And that's my truth. I don't know what truth you are referring to.

Debbie; you were looking for answers, I was merely making a suggestion. Read the book, don't read it, it doesn't bother me one bit.

...And like I said, based on my personal experience with the women I work with here in Riyadh, relationships are not all bad (this is based on the info they share with me about their personal lives). Like anywhere else in the world, there are happy marriages and unhappy ones. Every woman has a different story to tell.
Well how am I meant to be able to tell that you're a woman when you don't have a pic up? End of the day, Islam treats women like shite and men like Kings!!

Debbie, even contemplating a long distance relationship with someone from another country is unwise. Let alone a different religion/culture.
They can lie and tell you anything they think you want to hear.
You really need to spend time face to face to really get to know the person.

To Whom It May Concern,

I've corresponded with Debbie at length as to 'why' I do not believe the Man with whom she has received a proposal from isn't a 'real' Muslim.

First, and foremost, a Muslim Man (Or Woman) is NOT allowed to marry a Trinitarian Christian. (Which Debbie Is)

Once more... While a Muslim Man or Woman is allowed to marry a Christian, that Christian must have a minimum criteria as to what they do or don't believe in.

This Fellow with whom Debbie has been corresponding with HAS NOT made any effort to find these critical things out.

He also has expressed the desire to take Debbie out of England, which is an immediate Red-Flag.

******************************************************************************************************************************************

Last-but-not-least... Just because somebody comes from a Middle-Eastern Country doesn't mean that person is automatically as Muslim.

Remember, some of the new immigrants, in Western Lands, are actually people trying to get-away from the Criminal Record they've got over there !

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Debbie... DO NOT GO OUT WITH THIS GUY ! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
