Hi. I uploaded a pic last week of a garden scene with a castle in the background I like and it was deleted with the following message:

Hi Laura10,

We recently deleted photos from your account. Please only upload photos with your face clearly shown so other daters know who they are talking to. We are all more likely to talk to someone with their face (and smile) clearly shown in the profile picture right? Please upload another photo to get back in the dating pool! :)

Thanks,
Mingle2 team

So I found another picture of a garden castle scene and uploaded it a few days ago and the same thing? I see many landscape pictures and have several myself. Why are these pictures getting deleted? I'd like to know so if it is the size or something, I can look for a pic that meets the specifications.

Thank you

do you have at least one pic uploaded first of your face? Then switch it.

Thanks teal and mighty

Is this something new?

I haven't had pictures of me up for awhile now and never had any problems. I occasionally will show one or two, but haven't felt like it for quite some time. When did they start requiring us to post a self pic?

This must be new. I don't like using my real picture. I'm not looking for anything but the forums and I don't need my psycho ex to see it (he isn't a member here thank goodness)

I wonder if it's ok if you have real pictures but set to private?

after you upload them then trick it, switch them. Yes, can set them to private then ...I'm thinking.

Hi yellowroseflowerforyou

I know, I don't like using them for similar reasons...I once found a guy I had seen on here follow me around a store...another one said that my picture excited him and that creeped me out.

I have always really appreciated that I could express myself with pictures without having to have a self pic and sharing my pic with someone when I felt comfortable.

Not to mention all the fake accounts with stolen pictures!!

I do have 3 real pics set on private so I don't think that works.

I tried to trick it the second time by sticking it in the middle and they still deleted it...

Hey, if the pics are dark, 'they' will assume its an unclear pic of yourself and then it will be deleted. Just upload brighter pics. All the best! waving

If you get a e-mail from the mingle2 team then it is from Mingle telling you they have in fact deleted your photo for it did not follow the guidelines.. There is no doubt the e-mails are legit!

They have in fact changed/enforcing the photo guidelines. If you in fact get a e-mail and have had a photo deleted due to it does not meet the Site Rules it is what it is.. I would not suggest to re upload it prior to discussing it with site Admin first. A mistake could have been made. All photo's must include the member within them or they are subject to be deleted.

As far as other photos that are against rules and still there. I would suggest you report them through their profile not here not to the mods but through their profile or e-mail. Those reports go straight to Admin.

It will take time for the site to go through all the profiles in order to delete pictures that do not comply with the rules. Therefore just because someone still has a picture up that is against the rules is no reason to upload one of your own that is in fact against the rules.. Or you may expect the same e-mail that many are saying they are in fact getting..

Yes this means eventually everyone that has pictures that are not within the guidelines. Which states your pictures must include you in the picture all others may be deleted.

Thank you Kristi flowerforyou

Why are they making this change? Is there anyone we can contact to ask them not to change the photo guidelines?

This is a decision that has been made by the sites owner. Actually these rules have been in place but was not enforced as far as scenes, characters, pets ect. Even though the rules say members should be in the photo.

Due to they are leaning more towards a Dating Site they prefer that all members have pictures of themselves instead.. At this time they are going about getting all pictures removed that does not belong. This rule will be enforced so I would suggest to anyone that has pictures that do not include themselves to copy them. They can choose to go ahead and comply with the new rules. Or they will eventually be deleted and warnings sent.

If members choose not to comply after being warned they may take further actions.. Many Dating Sites do require that all photo's are of the member, and do not allow pictures that are not.

The Site is growing and making changes along the way..they try very hard to comply to members request. I assure all they have thought long and hard before they decided to require all pictures to include the member within them and to enforce this rule.
