well its now under investigation and one states after they put this prisoner to death ...has no more drugs to do it like that anymore ...

I don't believe we use the geaten anymore.. its gas chamber ... electric chair and firing squad ...

and does anyone think by having the death penalty in your state ...
reduce crime ...

I don't believe it does, it stops that one person,, that's all,, but imprisonment would do the same

that is only my opinion, I am unaware of any conclusive studies that prove the impact one way or another,,

I agree they really don't seem to put a lot to death... so why even have it ...just keep them isolated from the rest of the prisoners ... in isolated ... for life with no parole ... seems a waste any way they wait then can be over turned... well that is B/S to me and the justice system ... how many times do they let some go free and they do the same damn thing again ...

To the best of my knowledge,
the U.S. has never used the guillotine as a means of execution.

The guillotine was a creation of the French, during the "age of enlightenment".

Also, to the best of my knowledge, only one U.S. state, Utah, allows a firing squad as an option.

I'm all for reinstating public executions.

I don't think its very human to use the guillotine... and that state will have to make a decision soon on how to put those to death ... or abolish the death penalty all together ...

Murder, is never humane.

The French were keen on executing many with the guillotine. Including, those who would be deemed "political prisoners", by today's standards.

One of the earlier twentieth century execution devices, was a decompression chamber. Nevada even used it for awhile. There's one on display at a museum in Genoa, Nevada.

Short piece of rope, and a tall piece of tree, is still the most cost effective means of execution.

About the botched lethal injection in Oklahoma... Did you read what the condemned did to his victims? Did you catch the part, that after his horrendous acts toward his victims, he buried at least one of them while she was still alive.

Humane? That condemned oxygen thief of a murderer, deserved to suffer on his way out.

well, study the costs... a bullet costs about 38 cents, while it costs about 700 dollars a day to house them the rest of their life...
