About climate change are you a column thinker or a row thinker? No agenda here ... just curious how we all see the world...

Very interesting video. I would say to everyone to look at it and make their own conclusions, but not to post them, as it would influence peoples views before they see the video. Thanks for sharing. E-mail me if you want to discuss.

mmm - still thinking. You know, as I was watching this video I kept thinkin about all the things we did know - and took no action on.

How many hurricanes warnings have people refused to heed?
How do we get all these videos of tornados and tsunami's - some idiot is taking them.

What do the coastal commumities do, when threatened with tsunami's?

And if our nation war warned that nuclear attack is inevitable if we don't conform (to something) How many of us would run to march in the streets to SHOUT to the government "conform, conform".

I think the narrator bestoughs the thought process "how bad can it really be" on humanit as if it were a fixed or inherant part of our nature. I really dont' think that's true. Those who survived the holocaust, I'm sure, will never think that way again.

I think the fault in his reasoning stems from that theory. One of the most difficult concepts for Americans to understand is culteral diversity. This diversity affects the way people analyse, threorize and reason. His attempts to force poeple into action, may work, but predominantly in America and not with everyone.

The only nation who has risen to the challenge of protecting themseves agains natural disaster, is Japan. Earthquakes, in Japan are a given, but who, where, and when is never known and no amount of protection will save them in the worst case scenerio. Yet they spent fortunes and continue to enforce awareness and adherance to codes for the benefit and protection of its people.

If American were prone to such pre-emptive strategy, I would suggest the first alli should be Japan. But I don't see happening, and here's the reason. The first thoughts the majority of Americans would have is - sure let's do it, and the second thought wouldn't even manifest until their collective wallets were hit. But it would be something like this?

"So why is it always American, why are we always the ones to help everyone else. Were's the rest of the world in this effort? - F-k 'em why should we suffer for them?"

So - in the end - all I can say is there is fault in the logic presented. And the fault may actually be more closely related to the thought process of 'Americans' than to anything else.

one of my favorite stories from history goes something like this:
one of the greek philosophers when visiting Egypt for the first time
was allowed a chance to meet with the pyramids priests for a
chat...he went on & on about the intellectual superiority of the
greeks and their society...only to be interrupted by the priests
who reminded him that they had heard it before and that what
the greeks did not know was about the previous ages of man...that man had
risen to the mountain top before only to be brought down by nature again
and again....and that this 4th age of man was subject to the same fate...
cycles upon cycles...circles within circles....

Leave it to humans to think they somehow have control over nature
and the heavens (I'm sure we can fix global warming on mars also)...
we are like the spoiled teenager...soon to be spanked by mother nature
when the time is right....
