There was advertisements on Direct TV Cable about and up coming series about two cousins that are lovers. I don't know if it will actually air but it caused a big stink and a lot of subscribers canceled subscriptions because the parental controls would block the program but not the advertisements about the program.
Any one that wants to pretend that rape, incest, child abuse, and even elder abuse does not exist all over the USA in a percentage of the population is ignoring the facts. That statutory rape laws did not exist for males in many states as little as a decade ago shows we are not as vigilant or less permissive than other countries as we want to think. Child, torture, murder, and sex trafficking occurs in every major metropolitan city in the USA. None of these facts are things most of us would be proud of, and in fact many of our institutions actively work to keep it from happening but a lot more effort and money could and should be spent. That it is not always a federal crime against your citizenship to go to countries where sex trade is either ignored or legal is a particular shame on every American and I hope soon we will partner to stop the practice. Thankfully it is a bar to getting some types of visas to visit here or become a citizen if you are convicted of sex crimes in other countries but until the world wide record system catches up with the crime it is almost impossible to know. |
