A Godfrey, Illinois, woman was arrested on Monday night for allegedly killing a cat and four kittens with a hammer to punish her grandchildren.
Josephine E. Bell, 71, was charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty after her teenage granddaughter found her pet cat dead in the freezer, according to KMOV. Authorities could not locate the kittens, which were allegedly thrown away. Bell previously told her grandchildren that they had to clean their bedrooms or risk losing their pets, police said. She allegedly told authorities that she had killed the cat and kittens because she did not believe it should have been her responsibility to take care of them. As of Tuesday evening, Bell remained in jail, held on a $15,000 bond. Wtf? Whatever happened to milk and cookies? |

She should of gotten the daughter out, the daughters kids out, the cat & the kittens out. Too many years of ' taking care of'. Pushed here over. 71 years old. Where is here time? Or someone taking care of her? .* I would like to call her defence attorney. Lol *

She should have if she take care of give it to animal shelter that would find it good home. Duh. It was pretty stupid of grandmother to a do that.And the mother should not bother her but send her nurse home or place that is and get paid baby sitter indeed.

Now they're in school but she still has them for a few hours til I get home. I Hate that she cant be just grandma. She had them most of their active part of the day. They're two of five grand kids. I think she has nerves of steal! Cause they rake on my nerves for sure! Lol |

I just checked TWELVE sites. The media is all over the sexist aspect of it.... ." Grandmother kills cats to punish kids .  She is being held until a hearing, on $15,000 bond,no word on if she has legal representation. Or who the teenage girl is that lives there.? Or why the cops were at the house.? Or who called them ? . Weird.. this isn't over.. intriguing

He had health problems I didn't want him going to a day care.. It was a godsend.. Your mom sound priceless... |

Says the teenage age girlnis a granddaughter. Could be any where from 13-18 yr old. I can only assume the granddaughter (or someone she told) called the cops after finding her cat in the freezer.
I am unclear of the sexist part though. She is a grandmother that killed cats to punish her grandkids. I'm sure she has legal rep even if it's court appointed |

Mental illness shows up in various ways. Pretty obvious this is one very sick old lady.
The reasoning is identical to how my ex decided things. She didn't actually kill anything as far as I know, but she took at least one pet to the pound and claimed it was a stray. Lied about it. Claimed to have had nothing to do with the disappearance of a second, but since she repeatedly demonstrated she would lie whenever it suited her, and would (as this woman did) revert to self-righteous blame reversal whenever caught, I am reasonably certain she had the second done away with. My ex was diagnosed Bipolar. Don't know what this lady is, and I'm no expert, but I'd bet on either bipolar, or what I think it it's close cousin, Borderline Personality Disorder. |
