remember seeing something similar years ago, thought i'd give it a try as it could, possibly, maybe, lead to people finding some common ground etc.

basically you post your hometown and then other people post something they know about it

so here goes:
Huddersfield in Yorkshire, UK

who's heard of it?

correctt, Yorkshire is a historical county of England, now divided up into different counties, and where Yorkshire pudding originates.

My hometown looks nothing like it did. So, don't really associate with it anymore. My current town is changed/changing for Coos Bay, Oregon. Though I will miss some of my old haunts, particularly the restaurants. I look forward to exploring all the new ones.

Home is where your family is, whether it's the one you were born with or the one you build. It's the times and people, not so much the place.

"A singing hinny or singin' hinnies are a type of bannock, girdle-cake or scone, made in the north of England, especially Northumberland and the coal-mining areas of the North East. In Scotland, they are known as fatty cutties. Hinny is a term of endearment in the dialects of the Newcastle area."
