Topic: 29th Amendment to the Constitution | |
---|---|
How many have read their Constitution? Most would not believe some of the amendments established by congress. For example...... 29th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States The Congress shall establish a target population for the United States for the purpose of assuring a high standard of living and quality of life for its citizens. The target population shall not be higher than can be continuously sustained by proven reserves of domestic natural resources utilizing existing technology, or by trading such excess resources for others not available domestically. Also, the target population of the United States shall be below the level that, if applied globally, is determined by science to pose no threat to the global environment. The Congress shall establish immigration quotas consistent with achieving the target population. The Congress shall also enact policies that, while leaving people free to choose the size of their families, encourage the population to move toward and stabilize at the established target level. The target population shall be reviewed by Congress annually and shall be retained or adjusted as necessary. http://petemurphy.wordpress.com/more-good-stuff/29th-amendment-to-the-constitution-of-the-united-states/ |

It means that one day they can/will revise the following inscription on the Statue of Liberty.
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door." It will probably read, Our lamp burned out, so beat it. ![]() |

"determined by science to pose no threat to the global environment".
Whose science? ![]() |

They make it vague on purpose. It looks like an amendment to allow restrictions on immigration.

The whole world should give this one some attention. It is contradicting our heritage.

How silly. This is NOT an officially proposed Constitutional Amendment. It's another obvious joke. Or perhaps more accurately, all kinds of silly and insane Amendments get "proposed" all the time. However, 99.999% of them never even reach the floor of the Congress, even to get debated seriously.
Many of them are written primarily to get attention for someone or something else. Most of them are "serious" in the same way that fans "seriously" propose marriage to the movie star they have the hots for. |
