I wondered what that connection was too msharmony.

omg...
"Canadas top ten list of AMERICAN stupidity"... is that really that hard to understand? frustrated frustrated frustrated laugh laugh

yes, canadas list should say

Only in America: could they have had the two people most responsible for THEIR tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

when I speak about someone else I describe them with they/their,, not OUR

the writer is not the country of canada though, and thats for certain,,lol

Oh I see. That was what confued me too, when they used 'our'. Thanks msharmony.

I like making you bang your head, Moe.

of course not,,

I just think there are alot of other factors

comparing a place with 3 percent the population of the US
and 3 percent of the GDP, which may make 'transparency' a bit simpler to tackle,,,

its like someone who presents a budget on where they spend 30000 dollars telling someone who spends 1,000,000 how simple it should be ,,,

Ah, I think that's a cop out that Americans like to use.

"That will never work here, it only works in small countries" Lets them not face the issues. Of course transparency will work anywhere; it is more about attitude than logistics.

To me the American government is like the 0ld Catholic Church telling it's parishioners that everything had to be in Latin because it was the language of the church. In reality, they just wanted to keep the power in the hands of the clergy. That is just like saying we can’t be transparent, it will never work here, but really we have your best interests at heart.

its not an excuse at all, certainly its harder for someone carrying 100 excess pounds to climb a hill than someone only carrying 5

the numbers matter , as does size,,, when it comes to how 'simple' something is,,,

point is,, 'transparency' does not equal less debt,,,too many other factors are more important

This top ten list was first highlighted by Glen Beck in 2009 on his show.
The Canadians must be republican expatriates.

Let us consider: For the past 250 years (ish), the United States has been divided up primarily between Democrats and Republicans. Both sides have accomplished great things, and both sides have been harangued for causing great problems. Largely, what one side does, the other side attempts to counter or "correct" based on political, economic, or even religious reasons.
The next election, everything turns out exactly the way it did in the previous election, though the names may have switched. ("Democrats blame Republicans for economic state!" becomes "Republicans blame Democrats for economic state!", etc.)

Try something new. See if it makes a difference.

Vote Libertarian!

yes, and while the 2 parties are pointing fingers and blaming each other, nothing ever changes... it hasn't been "for the good of the people" for a long time, since before Reagan anyway...

Both parties have their fair share of lies. That's why their politicians. To say who lies better is pure idiocy. Both are guilty in this regard. Who lies better is irrelevant when both do it all to well.

agreed, but none the less, it's still an opinion... my anger is directed at the dims right now, not the repubs...

I don't know the sliver of light that separates the GOP from the Democrats is getting thinner all the time.

I'd love to see someone come out and truly defend the constitution.

No, I don't mean the constitutionalist party. I think they'd rather have a christian theocracy than a federal republic.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but Cana-Duh has little right to speak about stupidity.

Everyone knows that DC stands for "Deceit and Corruption"

There is no "line" between the D and R in DC, only the faces and who profits from controlling the chambers of deceit and corruption
