If you could give two items to any group of the world wide immigrants, what would you give?

I would give them advice.

1. Stay home and fix your own problems ...create a country that you don't want to leave.

2. The entire world can't live in America and Europe. See #1...

They have already left their countries..... So....

You would give them a boat to go home with and educate them to overthrow their governments?

I don't think the majority of illegal aliens within the United States need a boat to get here why would they need one to go back?

You don't need to overthrow a government to make your own country better.

Aww invictus where is your heart .. What about all those displaced by war .. Sure fixing the country is a great idea but that kind of change takes a long time .. So we turn our backs on them in the meantime huh

Can't speak for his heart but I'm displaced by war. Since my immigration back into the civilian population America (via Veterans Affairs...) gives me bills for service connected illness related medications from random generic pharmaceutical companies. They take that money out of my (earned) benefits check. I've been denied all other (earned) benefits because I don't use drugs or alcohol and I don't have any children. 0 from(earned) social security, 0 from all other (earned) benefits. My military service and 17 years overall paying in go to illegal and legal immigrants and babymamas that give birth to paychecks. I gave enough but I'll give them this.

1. Absolutely
2. A double helping of NOTHING

In the spirit of giving.

Well you live in a vastly underpopulated country. Feel free to open your borders to the Syrians and Libyans or whatever other group of displaced peoples you wish.

We have a problem here with our own population not being able to find jobs. A government that has run a debt to gdp ratio to over 100%.

You can have a heart, but at this rate in 30 years it will be Americans looking for somewhere else to live.

New Zealand is a small country .. The population is relative . I do not claim ownership of a country and would gladly open borders here .... sadly the government share your views it seems .

You are 205th in population density. You have plenty of room for them.

How many immigrants can 4.5 million people afford?

I can understand how you feel and believe me in a perfect world everyone would be fed properly and there would be no poverty or war.

You have 4.5 million people in your entire country.. We probably have twice that number of American born children that aren't properly taken care of. As German Chocolate said we don't take care of veterans either.

We have tens of millions of people that for one reason or another need help.

I want them helped first and foremost. You want to blame me for that... its on you..

If you could give two items to any group of the world wide immigrants, what would you give?

1. Mandatory military service in order to help an invasion of their home country.
2. Establishing their home country as a taxable colony of the country they're trying to enter.

Long live the new gentrification imperialism .

Change, China devalued its currency twice in 2 days? I doubt the 5+ billion people of China had any hand or say in that change.
People, sane people, have had plans for positive change for a very long time. Look at El Paso Laredo and look at Mexico City. El Paso and Laredo are dumps in comparison and Mexico City has bistros on par with many of America's best cities. A checker can only occupy one square at a time. If our checkers ($) keep crossing the border and they keep sending people to take our money cars homes food seats in school healthcare.... What there isn't enough time money or materials for Americans to build cities in Mexico. Even then we'd be at their mercy paying them not us weakening our economy and American workforce even further. The tired poor huddled masses aren't greeted by Lady Liberty anymore. They are American citizens.

Not helping, training housing, feeding educating them their families their children cost US money.
Taking on extra colonies not laden with gold costs us far more than we would collect in taxes.

Not resentful of those who need it, im resentful that those who haven't earned it don't need it and broke/are breaking laws in the process of getting it. People who are American, did spend significant part of their life earning it and do actually need it im glad they can. They'd get more if it wasn't going to illegals and baby machines.

Oh and you make a good point but you have it reversed. It's tax payer -> government support. The government earns interest on the tax payer $ for every day they withhold and pay out benefits. The tax payer only has the option to pay additional taxes to get the same amount back at the end of the year, whilethe government earns interest on it. We can't keep our whole paycheck and pay them the same amount at the end of the year. Our interest is taxable income.
Foodstamps wic ebt whatever it's called allows recipients tax free purchases in some places but the state/fed still charge the establishment/store taxes. Tax paying citizens don't get to buy food tax free, in most cases. I myself can't shop on military installations because I'm not 100% disabled. I applied for a medical exception but I don't have kids and I'm not disabled enough.

this typcial American attitude sounds heartless to many

I know it does..and if you had asked me in my twenties this question I would have said look at those poor people who have traveled so far and they are hungry and they have babies and some of women are pregnant..we would be cruel and heartless to turn them away..but

what happens after you open flood gates and allow them all to enter?

where to do they live? many do not know the language..where will they work?
who will care for them when they are sick? educate their children? take care of their aged parents/grandparents? put food in their bellies? will we sent them for job training or a college degree and who will pay for it?

I am not sure how it works in your country .. But in mine the government is attempting to reduce the number of benefit frauds by making it harder to remain on a benefit and frequently reassessing entitlement . Baby machines .. Laughing .. are expected to work once children reach the age of five .

Machine implying girls who keep giving birth to new paychecks. Once the kid reaches the age a 5 they have 2 or more half siblings. Or whole siblings, not halves of halved siblings... You know what I meant. The babies just keep coming.....

wow, this is a broad question

it didnt specifically ask about 'illegal immigrants' , just immigrants

and I do agree that america cant be home to EVERYONE in the world who wants to live in it

so, I believe that two things necessary regardless of citizenship status, for immigrant or non immigrant,, are a competitive education(to understand how the world functions) and a trade (to function int he world)

msharmony is correct. The OP says nothing about immigrants being illegal.

Also, the OP says nothing about immigrants who are in the USA.

Immigrants go to places other than the USA, too.

To clarify... I began this thread thinking about illegal immigrants displaced all over the world, some in camps, some homeless and trying to find a home. The situation in Europe makes headlines all over the world, but there are ILLEGAL immigrants everywhere hoping for charity.
Not many people have been charitable and given them a cooking stove or a hiding place????

Its a complicated situation. The truth is,, not everyone is a good person, and being an immigrant doesn't change that fact. I dont feel safe with strangers in my home, especially those with no 'trail' of who they are.

More power to those who do.

However, I do, have, and would give a needy person money for clothes or food, I will buy them a meal,, regardless of their immigrant status, etc,,,,,

thats what I can do as an individual trying to struggle through life myself,,,

if I had systemic/collective power or resources, as the question asked, I would give the education and teach a trade to as many as possible,,,
