What's the point?  Chances are I'm not going to message anyways...

I would say only 10% or less read the whole profile. Most of them just click the like after seeing ur picture, they don't seemed interested in knowing who u really are. It shows that most men are attracted with girls physically at first. But personally, I prefer to read the profile first because it gives me an overview of who you are.

i always read profiles,although most of them usually have the "will tell you later" BS on them, sometimes i read them 2 or 3 times because i forget what they've wrote, or sometimes i don't realized i read that profile a few days before
 if i message someone i usually make reference to something on their profile so they know i've read it, i'm good like that |

but i have to ask this after i read it and like gt took the time to craft a note that proves i actually did read it, how is no answer is an answer any better than me not bothering to read at all?

Most men definitely don't read profiles. And not only that, most men, (with the exception of maybe 10%; and a lot of women, too, i guess) have nothing written on their profiles, except "Hi" or "Will tell you later"...
I have often asked myself what the reason is for this, and i think it's probably either laziness, distrust, negative preconditioning (like "Even if i read/write, they won't answer" or "Most of what people write, is a lie" etc.-- we read some of them here... ) or they are simply scammers with their own agenda. My opinion on that: What is written on the profile can give you some basic info about the person and can help you decide if you want more. No more, no less! Writing a message to someone whose profile you have actually read is sensible (and honest) only if you really like what you read (even though that is, of course, just a very partial truth about the person), and you want to know more. But the aim shouldn't be getting back the message at all costs or counting the actual answers, but rather getting the right person, right?! If the person doesn't answer that means they are not interested (for one or the other reason), and thea are probably also not the right person for you, simple as that. Expecting that another person must answer just because you wrote them a message (even if you have read their profile, but especially if you haven't) is a bit absurd. The other person has freedom to answer or not, according to their standards. Some of us will only answer those who read our profiles, who have actually some information about themselves on the profile, who showed some interest and who we are also interested in after reading their profiles....

ok tessa try it this way. we both frequent the same pub. i've seen you a time or two and even spent one night shooting pool at the next table so i heard enough of you talk to decide i was interested. so the next time we are both there i walk up and introduce my self and even mange to say something cute that fits with some of your overheard conversation. no you really aren't interested in me. do you stare through me like i don't even exist? or do you demonstrate some level of common courtesy and say thanks but no thanks?

Careful my friend with the analogy that seems to be trending anymore.. They will look through you as if you don't exist. I will have to amend my statements in here a bit since I posted. I have had several emails from men that have read my profile since they will mention some specific phrase dang it I hate when I have to back down a bit. disregard this post please look at second this one was made without enough coffee

yup more coffee The point I am trying to make with my analogy is this.. And before I put it all out here I know I am in a minority... but here goes anyway,, With the way things are trending... For example on the internet No Answer is an answer which I don't believe, it takes seconds to say thanks but no thanks politely It will soon be the same in the real in person world. Which to me is a travesty... When someone takes the time to read your profile, sends a note that you know they have spent the time to do so.. And the person can't be bothered to answer... Is rude IMO... When someone smiles and says hello in the real world to me it is a natural thing to smile and say hello doesn't mean I am stopping what I am doing I am responding with manners. Somewhere in the last few years common courtesy and manners are being lost. Anway time for 3rd cup of coffee...
