There is nothing wrong with sending an email first. You never know where it might lead. One thing's for sure, you can only know when they read it...not whether or not they will actually respond back to you. Good luck...we all NEED it.

Okay, puffins and LLh, maybe I'll start writing people. I -- it's so confusing now, isn't it? I think men don't know what to do and we don't know what to do and so nobody does anything!

I keep getting emails to my personal email account that I have several mutal matches that have tried to contact me and that I have not responded however when I go into this site there is nothing there to respond to. Is this just a way of getting you to visit this site and browse around while you are here? I realize there are sponsors supporting this website and perhaps each visit creates revenue. I don't know maybe that's why it is free or if you sign up for some of the offers you get more responses. I don't know if the website is controlling this function. None of the mutual matches that have been choosen for me do not strike my fancy. They don't even meet my qualifications....What is up with that????? Anyway I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and I hope you find that someone special...... :)

Ocean Seeker, there's more info on how Mutual Match works; look for the other threads in Community. You have to do some searching yourself; click Search and then Mutual Match and then vote yes or no or maybe and whoever's voted yes/maybe to you, and you to them, then show up as Mutual Matches on your page. I get the emails too, and didn't understand how it worked at all at first! Now I know how it works, but nobody's corresponding

Ocean Seeker: I have the same problem with mutual matches. Your probably right. It's just a ploy to get you to check into the sight.

I have had a few matches, I've emailed..no response from any of them,so I deleted them. Anymore I just don't care, its pointless any way.

speaking of corrosponding, I've sent probably 12 e-mails this week. Have not heard a word from any of them. I've spread my area out quite a ways to see what is going to happen. Guess what? NOTHING......
I've spread soooo farrrrrrr that I could not even think of driving there even if a perfect match came along.
Well, like I said before, just keep your head up and smile a lot.
People will wonder what your up to. Keeps then guessing anyway.

Well, I'm glad someone brought this up. I don't get it....you don't have to use the feature, so if ya chose to, why not write or respond to a mutual match????? I've written to three I think with no response, just makes me feel foolish for having written at all. Even if you find after reading their profile you are actually not a match, common courtesy dictates folks are entitled to a reply. All not responding does is make people wary of contact...this is a dating site, no one is going to connect if folks aren't willing to take a chance!

so true, lilbug! the least people can do is reply and say that they don't think it's a good match. without communication, none of us are going to meet anyone...

Okay, I got brave and wrote to a couple of my mutual matches....God!!! I hate this part, the initial contact, putting yourself out there, trying to come up with something witty and charming, but nothing ventured, nothing gained...I'll let ya know....

lilbug and tsw, I agree with you both! And that's why I posted this thread. What's the point of Mutual Match if all we do is get matched with people and nobody WRITES anybody?!

I have written several and no response. I think guys are scared of women that make the first move and they are also scared to make the first move. They dont know what they want.
