As we move into the holidays I think most singles that are honest hope that magic will happen but really don't have a clue how to navigate the pre-holidays that might end up with a good result.

Often there are a lot of social opportunities but the time and $$$'s seem spread pretty thin. So if you don't want to be terminally single for another season you might want to set aside some for meeting someone. Or just being out to be seen. Santa is probably not going to give anyone your home address. But has anyone felt invisible at the Mall? Who's guilty of going out looking like the Grince gave you a good beating?

Won't hurt if you actually research a few affordable things to do. Actually during the holidays there are bargains if you look.

Has anyone felt like someone got the sleigh in front of the reindeer?

How many actually wish their fellow Mingler's polite holiday greetings before the last minute? Do you see that as a last ditch booty call? Or pitiful? Or too nice? Maybe a hustle?

You see where the conversations could go. Give your best thoughts. You can be funny but really it could be helpful. You have the floor.

Venues or tactics? Do people actually meet trying to pick up each other with kids in tow? I am trying to remember but I think that would be the least likely time for me to respond to a flirt. "Using" kids for "bait" would be such a turn off. When my "double's" attracted attention I just thought it was the novelty and then when they were teenagers I think it was probably intimidating because it was like two personal body guards. lol

I won't date during the holiday season. In fact.....in the Man Dating Rulebook created by the great Larry Flynt, a single man is not permitted to begin dating a woman during the holidays else his man card will be revoked. Haha!

I work all the holidays so my coworkers can spend time with their kids, but I would never start dating someone during the holidays because its just to busy and everyone is in a hurry. When people wish me a Merry Christmas I don't really read anything in to it, I take it as they are being genuine.

From 2 weeks b4 Thanksgiving to Valentines day, there is no chance on meeting anyone because of the holiday minefields during that time period:

Thanksgiving: Do you take this person to yours / or go with them to their family/friends dinner? What if you are not asked to go at all...

Christmas: same dinner dilemma as last month PLUS gifts...

New Years Eve: it seems to matter way more who you are with at the stroke of midnight on that night, not to mention the morning after...

Valentines Day: a holiday made for the express purpose of exchanging sincere emotional words about LOVE, plus more gifts...

Nope, I guess I won't seriously start looking again until Feb. 15th, 2016...

I brought this up a couple of weeks ago. There are people that only want to date for the holidays, then break up.

Eh, not to put a spanner in the works, but Christmas is usually a time I like to spend with family and close friends. For me, the worst time of year to be looking for a potential lover. I always have enough to put up with every Christmas. What with getting presents, getting cards, planning where we'll be spending our time every year. I'm always too busy at Christmas.

I am not sure when I did this ... what yr I mean ...a few maybe ... I gave a guy my no. while at the mall holiday shopping ... with the kids as I call them ... he of course said thank you very polite ... so I move around to ask the guy he was working with about him ... seems he had a GF which was not surprising ... very handsome ... so I figure he will not call and just said don't give my No. to any of your friends just throw it away ...if you don't use it ... lol but I mainly did it to just ask someone out ... build up the nerve again ... so I felt good that I just asked... no matter the out come ... I might have freaked if he called me lol but if that right person comes into your life ... no matter what season ... if you truly want to love someone again... then I would not pass it up ...just becouse of how busy you may be at any given time...
