Just curious about holiday traditions. Are you a person who lives by the rules of traditional holiday foods? I for one have had a tradition with my family on Christmas eve to have KFC and Chop Suey lol. Strange I know.

Myself I prefer the traditional with Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, creamed corn & peas, sweet yams ect.. ohh and pumpkin or pecan pie

But since I eat at my sons, for they wanted to start the tradition at their house for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. So it is normally many new recipes I've never had.. At least we did have Ham for Thanksgiving this year.. But for Christmas they are doing Prime Rib.... and of course I'm sure dishes I've never had... whoa But have to admit they are good just not what I have grown up having for those Holiday's.......noway

This year the weekend prior I'm going to cook my own Christmas dinner at home so I can have a traditional Christmas dinner. That way it is a win win situation... bigsmile

Plus I don't have to cook on the Holidays.. unless I just want to for myself..

Turkey for Thanksgiving
Ham for Christmas

...although, I'd just as soon have a good ham for Thanksgiving also.

Here we do Turkey for Thanksgiving.
Christmas I do a Prime Rib as the meat.

Christmas Eve is a meat and cheese platter with all the goodies with fresh fruit. Curling up with Christmas Movies.

Turkey and/or ham with the fixins depending on how many are eating.
Christmas Eve is at a friends who traditionally does Italian. Lasagna, sausage, meatballs, octopus, squid, shrimp and scallops.
