A Washington state man who purchased a toy airplane for his nephew this Christmas said he was stunned by the recording it played back when powered on.

"My nephew opened a present. We put the batteries in and didn't get what we expected," Bjorn Thorpe told KING-TV. "The plane is supposed to make flying noises and plane noises."

Instead, the plane's speakers played back the verses to an Islamic prayer.

"Sounds like an Arabic chanting, which is pretty unusual," Thorpe said. "We were kind of confused on how this would happen It's just kind of not the right situation to have that on a children’s toy."

Nadeem Israr, president of an Islamic Society center in the area, told KING that the recording was "a prayer you're supposed to say when performing Haji" — the pilgrimage to Mecca.

"That’s very wrong. It’s very, very wrong." Israr said of the fact the recording was on the toy plane.

Other reviews on the Amazon page for the toy indicate many had a similar recording placed on their devices.
The company that made the toy, WolVol, blamed the incident on its foreign manufacturer and said the products must have accidentally been loaded with the wrong sound effects, KING reported.

As for Thorpe, he plans on purchasing his nephew a new gift.

"He just wants a plane," he said.

As much fun as it is, to have fun at everyone else's expense.
I can't bring myself to smack an entire faith.

Some are evil.
Most are not.

Being agnostic I don't have this problem. I defend the rights of others to choose what they wish to believe even if I don't. However, any religion that feels I should be punished or subjugated because I don't believe, in my opinion it is just another form of tyranny.

When you consider the deaths and wars bound to religious belief, the imprisonment, persecution, subjugation, torture, and acts imposed on a people and "justified" by it, my moral and ethical compass will not allow me "faith" in any part of it.

I have more faith in the ancient alien theory. At least there is science to back that up, and even scrolls and text in most popular religions.

That is merely the human factor and nothing to do with religion. It is based on moral and ethical beliefs, not faith.

Jim Jones was religious, and so many others. It has not kept them from killing, defrauding, or otherwise using it for their own personal gain or gratification.

I bear no ill will towards anyone who hasn't earned it, but religion on the whole has a poor track record under the "good" column.

Don't get me started on the fraud called the Vatican!

subtle Indoctrination?

BINGO !

We HAVE to start flipping it.

If it were prayers in Hebrew from the Torah.
If it were prayers in Latin or Ancient Greek.
It it was chanting of Tibetan monks.

People should be outraged

the "good" ones aren't needed to be worried about...who can tell the "good" ones from the "bad" ones? it only took 19 to kill 3000 people in less than an hour, could anyone tell they were bad beforehand?

Admittedly, it would have been absolutely hysterical, if accompanied by the recorded sounds of machinegun fire, explosions, and narrated by achmed the dead terrorist.

But, I just can't bring myself to slam an entire faith.

It'd be tantamount, to pepperspraying ALL mormons, before I know which one is gonna accost me at the grocery store.

Like throwing holy water on ALL Jehovah's Witnesses, before I know which one is gonna stick the stupid flyer under the windshield wipers of my car.

Like turning my dogs loose on ALL Southern Baptists, before I know which one is gonna knock on my door and tell me I need to "get right with Jayzuss! Hallelujah! Amen, brothers and sisters!"
