I was watching some stupid show on tv and someone on the show said that people in the United States "live to work" while people in other countries, "work to live".
So basically they were saying that we in the United States work way too much. I agree and I hate having to work so much.

So, the question is, if you didn't have to work so much, what exactly would you do with your time?

I would travel around the world (a few times) and probably live a slower paced life style because right now, it seems like the days are just flying by.

Well for some people a job is getting paid to do what you don't want to do. But there are some people that have the luxury of doing what they love. But props to you Jess for enjoying life.

ahh that's very true about some people having a job they love. Still, I love the idea of just laying around without a single care in the world. Maybe I'll just become a bum.happy

I see where your coming from Jess, I work a 12 shift, but I usually work 15 or 16 hrs. I'm not complaining it's good pay. But I'd rather be with my family, or my friends. It kind a sux when your life consist of mainly eating, sleeping, working, and everything else in between.

I should (since I can afford the time) work on more music. Maybe invest in some equipment and make movies. Ofcourse I need to go out and meet more people for that. I dunno. Maybe build a pond in the back yard.

Australia is a huge place I would spend time exploring it. I would volunteer my time in Domestic and Violence units or Child protection unit even Missing people unit...something like that.

You can have so much fun for so long and would get bored shi*less.

I find the Australian life to be more relaxing than the Americans.

Several times in my life, I've said "I was looking for a job when I found this one." Quit, and took off on "road trips" that lasted up to six months. Just to see what was out there. I reccommend it, especially if you have no "strings" to tie you down.

As for what I'd do now, if I could just leave my work, I think I'd take some classes in painting. Maybe see if I could write some poetry again. Just be creative.

Visit my kids and grandkids as often as I wanted to. And just wander the country between Alaska, Ohio, and North Carolina seeing all the beauty the US has to offer.
