despite the fact that my fanhood is waning. I still like wwe a lot. I just wish it was better.

Yea, tna needs to make it big so we can see some competition and better storylines. Also better use of talent, John Cena is so boring not to say I'm glad he's injured but I'm glad to see a fresh main event scene and champion. I also hate how on Smackdown! (even though I rarely watch usually work friday nights) how Batista is ALWAYS involved somehow in the main event. I also think it's stupid how everyone big name is on raw and how ecw basically got completely shafted.

They need to combine Raw and Smackdown again.

WWE died after they bought WCW and ECW. Competition drives better story lines, and the sad thing is there is no competition...

if they combine raw, smackdown and ecw, they will have to lay off a lot a wrestlers.

Combining raw and smackdown wouldn't work too well there's too many superstars and the main event is crowded as is.

i think after they bought wcw, they should have let shane run it. keep wwe and wcw seperate and on seperate networks. let vince run wwe and shane run wcw and pretend that they were still having the monday night wars

and they could have given wcw some wwe people to make it better (cuz it sucked horribly at the time) the invasion was such a failure because all they did was stick wwf people (stone cold, kurt angle etc) and make them main eventers. If they had Goldberg and the other high end wcw people it would have made more sense and probably actually worked.

==============================================================

Hey, drv4269:

It's possible to be a pro wrestling AND an MMA fan. I'm proof of that. No need to start a feud here.

As for pro wrestling:

It always irritates me when WWE fires someone, giving the excuse of "The writers can't come up with anything for you.".

Uhhh, that's only THEIR FREAKING JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If these WWE writers constantly are having trouble "coming up with things" for wrestlers, I have a novel idea:

FIRE THE WRITERS!

Love him or hate him(and I'm middle ground on him), I liked Vince Russo's tenure in WWE for one reason--he always made sure that there was something for EVERYONE to do. He focused on everyone--not the same 4 or 5 guys that the current writers do.

I like Kennedy and Carlito as well. Plus there's Umaga, MVP, and a host of others.

The problem is, they won't get the chance to rise to main-event status. Those spots are hogged by Triple H, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and Batista. I'm not saying lower them on the card--but they need to elevate others. WWE is staler than month-old bread right now.

Look no further than All-Japan in the mid 80s and see how they had about 18 "main-eventers" on their roster. They were able to rotate main events for years with this cast. The problem with WWE is the ego-trips of HHH, Michaels, Undertaker, JBL, and a couple others. I've always said that "Talent" and "Office" should ALWAYS be kept seperate.

The main problem that the WWE has is, in reality, wrestling fans (well, a lot of them) long for the days of the Attitude Era. I can understand this, since that ERA did bring in people who, at the time, just were not wrestling fans. However, those days are long gone, and now the WWE is just searching for the next big "boom" that will happen.

Honestly, the wrestling business is cyclical. In the mid to late 80's, wrestling grew because the WWE brought in entertainment to wrestling. AWA, NWA, WCCW, and other territories just could not fathom what Vince was doing. But, through Vince's vision, Hogan, Piper, Macho Man, and others were born, and he used these guys to help make the WWE profitable.

Then, in the 90's, when WWE was struggling cause they could not figure out how to make the business grow, out comes WCW with a more "reality" side to wrestling. It worked, and then the WWE got in on it, and the Monday Night Wars began. Again, the business was in a lull, and then "boom" the Attitude Era hit us. And now? Vince is just waiting, trying to find that next great idea that will bring in the ratings and revenue.

True. There is no competition. But, in all honesty, TNA needs more time to develop. I like alot of the talent in TNA, but it still has to grow. Right now, the WWE is all there really is when it comes to worldwide exposure. And until TNA can generate that kind of exposure, then the WWE will reign supreme.
