.....I mean my grandparents came out to California from the dustbowl with NOTHING!......it's kind of how I got my nickname. I'm proud!

I've seen so many friends proud of where they are from (as they should be :-) !!! I have witnessed an International understanding and friendship.

What do you love about home?
Where would you like to go?
What do like about people with different perspectives, whom you have met?

I grew up in Philadelphia,, now in the suburbs.. Dad came from Italy, there is a town there spelled the same way I spell my last name...Mom is from Irish immigrants.. I love the food in philly and the people.. they get a bad rap but are the friendliest people I know.. and I been around in the military(I could just be bias).. I am A cowboys Fan not good in a town of savage EAGLE fans but enjoy the debate... 1 Hour I can be on the beach an hour north and I am in mountains in a cabin... The seasons change Shorts in the summer and snowballs in the winter... just throw them at Santawhoa

Hey Beach, Hey NBH! I'm a cowboy fan going back to when we had competent quarterback backs, and seasons that didn't spontaneously combust! You remember the unknown comic from the gong show?? That's me with a cowboy star. But diehard cowboy fan anyway. Last season I almost punched my buddies for making fun of the Cowboys.

Desert Southwest. El Paso, Tx. Juarez, Mexico. At one time more violent than the war in Afghanistan. Though I told a Juarenze, "I don't think so." Just then we had to dive for cover as the cops were chasing a car, dumping m4s into the back of the car. My Mexico friend told me, " You were saying?"

I said, ok ok, lunch on me. But werrrrr eating in Texas...True story

My paternal grandparents came from Southwest MS and settle in rural NE Louisiana and worked as sharecroppers farming 40 acres of cotton and a little vegetable garden in the MS river delta....rabbits and squirrels and a raised hog or two supplemented the food for their nine kids raised in a two room shack.
My dad was yanked out of that area in 1943 and sent to Germany to fight in WWII...He was one of the first Americans to cross the bridge at Remagen.
He made it through the war and eventually married amd settled in my hometown of West Monroe LA.
We're basically rednecks but have our share of coonazzes who have migrated North so we get the best of both worlds....real Southern soul food and Cajun delicacies.
West Monroe is a fairly small town...no alcohol sales on Sunday, a plethora of churches...typical Southern life...hunting and fishing galore.
Duck Commander is headquartered here aka Duck Dynasty...and my local high school alma mater....The West Monroe Rebels....have a stadium that has been voted the 3rd best place to watch a high school football game in America.
Its not New York...or New Orleans for that matter....but its my home, and i love it.

Thanks Viper with that introduction I was raised in Detroit..Laughing hard...At one time it was one of Americas melting pots, so many jobs revolving around the auto industry, worked so many overtime hours the pay was great. Its a big sports town and the music and the culture where unreal, So many ethnic restaurants, festivals the food was outstanding.Up north Michigan is truly a dream, the forests, the great lakes, fishing , hunting, snowmobiling, just some of the activities, not to mention pounding beers around the campfire. The Upper Peninsula is truly a thing of beauty and if you ever get a chance to visit there then by all means do it. Detroit has fallen on hard times and the crime is high there now, but some things are coming back, they are trying, I left 17 years ago for Myrtle Beach SC but i am so glad I grew up there and saw America when we where strong.

I love the sense of community. Bowling Green and the areas around it realy know how to pull together to help in times of need.

I do not want to live anywhere else BUT I have a long list of places I dream of visiting. I would love to travel through the Red Wood Forest area of Northern California and on up into Washington state. I would also like to visit various places in Britian and China.

Bowling Green is unique in we have several cultures here. What I find interesting is we have a shared perspective on certain values. Most faiths have a varied version of the golden rule about treating others as we want to be treated. I find that amazing! winking

As a kid, I read about the exploits of Fred Bear and his adventures all over the world. I'd rummage through issues and issues of Field &Stream and Outdoor Life reading his stories. But, it was his bowhunts in Michigan that had me the most enamored.
I daydreamed about taking my hand me down Bear Super Kodiak recurve and chasing MI whitetails just like Fred did.
Thanks for bringing back great memories drinker

My family is from Finland, they made Utah their home, my granddad and uncles worked the coal mines, I spent my summers on the farm, playing in the creeks, catching bullfrogs and riding horses...

I was born and raised in Santa Monica, California... Surfed Venice beach down to redondo...

Raised my children in Pasadena, California...

I have spent the last 6 years of my life on the beach in cocoa beach, Florida... And due to my ex- mother in laws passing (yes we are a very divorced family) I have spent the last 6 months in lake havasu, Arizona...

Life is amazing... As is all of mother natures creations

I'm not "from" where I currently live.

I'm not even "from" this region of the U.S..

But...

Since I currently live in Texas,
about the nicest thing I can say is,
at least I don't live in Odessa.
