The US Marines are at their BREAKING POINT

Fox News ran an exclusive report on Special Report tonight on how the US Marines are at their breaking point. Their planes are breaking down and in the air training has been cut by 50% due to budget cuts in the last few years. They are literally cannibalizing parts from planes that are supposed to be in the air to keep the other planes in the air.

And the Marines themselves are being asked to do more and more, even working 21 hours a day just to keep their aircraft operational. It’s gotten so bad that some are leaving for jobs in the private sector.

The report doesn’t mention it, but this is the effect the Obama administration has had on our military in conjunction with Congress. They are breaking it with all these budget cuts.

Just think of how much worse it will get if Hillary or Bernie wins in November.

It is a national disgrace & an international embarrassment.
And pitiful!

And as far as I seen, it is the only thing ALL the Republican candidates agreed to change.

...Hmmm, maybe genius, but...maybe we should have some kind of "aeronautical enforcement" or "aero force" or hmmmm....I know! "airplane power group!" that specifically handles all the air stuff.

I mean we've got the army, for ground stuff.
We've got a navy, for sea stuff.

I'm surprised no one has thought of anything for air stuff yet.


IMO good.
We spend more on military than anyone else by multiple factors.

I just wish there was some way to cut military spending by at least half and actually return the money to the people that earn it, but the government would just keep it and spend it on something else.

I wonder what they're doing with the record amount of taxes they are collecting.
I think it's all going to Obamacare or something.

Cannibalizing one plane to repair another has been going on in air forces since airplanes were invented.

The Marine Corps is a branch of the Navy and has always had to do more with less. It is still one of the best light infantry fighting forces in the world, and always will be.

Please stop blaming the President for every rumor you hear on fox news.

Yep. But don't put anyone in who has been there in the last two decades, either. Remember it was BOTH parties, who decide to play the game of talking tough and saying "thank you for your service," even as they cut the military budget, or played games. Bush with his "stop loss" program (actual title should have been enslaved servicepeople) and using up the fricken national guard OVERSEAS, so that they could continue to cut taxes on the rich here.

I know all this well. I have young relatives in the military, and I know how they have been continually jerked around, even as these politicians wear flag pins, and chant their empty-handed thank-you routines.

The Democrats did a lot of cutting military budgets. The Republicans saw to it that more of the money was spent on weapons programs, and even more on OUTSOURCING things, so that their civilian friends would get rich off of the wars they sent our people in to.

Right now, there is a segment of the GOP, who are promoting the lie that everyone who works for the government, which they fail to mention INCLUDES the military, are living opulent lives with all sorts of free perks. They even want to do away with the Veterans Hospital system, not because they actually want better care for our people in the military (the VA can specialize in military medicine, the civilian folks can't), they want to do away with it because it will make it APPEAR that they have lowered the cost of government, while that are actually increasing it, and moving the cost to a place that's harder to measure.

So yes. Get ALL of them out of there.

That "Blame Bush" is quite shopworn after nearly eight years!

You misunderstand on purpose, as usual.

The current CIC is to blame for HIS part, but the budget, and the monies spent on our people, was determined by THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS.

In addition, as I said, Bush and company decided to run up the technically CIVILIAN portion of defense spending during their unnecessary war and the more justified one, and made sure that our people were under armored, underpaid, and under cared for during their stint in the leadership saddle.

So unless you are absolutely insistent on being completely dishonest about all this, you will recognize that the Republicans are the ones who decided how much was spent on our people. At least for the last six years, since they gained a majority, and for the eight years previous to that.

Better get a few more Buckets!
