Someone who has made a difference in your life..

My dad...WWII Vet, Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient.
Disciplined hard but loved harder...taught me a great work ethic and an even greater sense of self worth. RIP Dad.

Lucky there have been many on a large and small scale.

Personal life probably my cousin who gave me the true sense of family.

Here on Mingle probably Charles and the higher ups that prove you can be successful in business without selling your soul tot he devil.

( I think I'll "zag" here.)

There are so many family members, Humanitarians, Spiritual leaders, Poets, Prophets, the courageous, the kind, the giving, the artistic etc......

..........but lately I've been trying to simplify

My buddy moved a (2ND) time. Anything not opened opened from the first move a year earlier, he threw away sight unseen.

I couldn't do it but Wavepuppet, you're my hero!

A lot of made a difference in my life.
Many people from many walks of life.
The impact they have I value.

My parents have always been my hero's.

I have met many people or read about some that have inspired me through out my life.
My children even inspire me to be a better person.

I do believe my grandfather from the time I was tiny was my hero..
He was the most amazing humble smart, caring, honourable man I have ever known.

I still treasure him today and always will..

He lived til 104. 6 months shy of his 105th Birthday.

Whenever I doubted myself he would smile that little crooked smile of his and tell me that was okay.. He believed in me.

He pushed me to be the best I could be,
He hugged and cuddled me when the world beat me up.
When I was scared he would calmly talk me through it.

Yeah He was and is my hero

WITHOUT a doubt it would be my uncle Barry.

He has stepped up every time I have need a father figure or a man to guide or help me through life.

When I was young he was there for me after my father left.

When my father died, he became my right hand man and made sure the family business ran while I was working my full-time job.

He was also the person that taught me to take a break and go golfing and always have fun.

My Grandfather became a widower just shy of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The family knows that in his heart of hearts he so wanted to contribute to the effort during WW II but had 3 kids to raise alone (including my father).

Gramps took a job in the aviation industry so he could be a part of the effort yet still support a family. As all patriots did (soldier or not), he worked above and beyond the call of duty....16hr + days without complaint and WITH pride.

However, sometimes there were caveats such as a sick child. He would have to say things like...."NO!!!..I cannot do that today. May I make up for it by an extra shift this weekend?"

In our family that has been such a source of pride because of work and duty, but maybe even more for a sense of boundaries, family, self, priorities, solution, and compromise.
