I grew up from a solid rock conservative upbringing where as lifelong commitment is very much well valued. my beloved late father would share to us then the vital keys of his over 60 yrs.of successful and blissful marriage to my beloved late mother. respect and profound commitment. respect the indifferences. respect the individualities and understanding will follow... profoundly committed to one another. and loyalty,honesty,trust will follow... ...all I have to do is to find that someone who shares the same values as mine...  Takes out a pen rolls up his sleeve....ok. What were they again?.lol..wink. uh huh!...oh my,does dementia bothering you lately?..lol! ...am kinda worried though ...lol!

The ideal relationship adds something to my already happy life.
It will enhance my life, complement me. It nurtures me, makes me even happier than I already am, gives me (even more) energy. For that you'd need to love, like, want each other. Respect one another, accept and embrace differences (you don't have to be exact clones, better not), and should be able to laugh & cry & really communicate together. I also think being a wee bit older, as in 40+, seriously increases the chances of getting such a relationship. When we're younger we usually don't have the insight, wisdom etc. yet. Life's trials and tribulations teach us those, provided we learn the lessons well and grow from them.

It warms my heart to see an old couple who are well into their 70's-80's that still hold hands and I love to see when the man will open the door for his wife. Both simple gestures but such a sweet thing. Just being happy with each other, I used to always think if I lost everything at least I'd have my wife and kids, of course no wifey now but anyway, that's my sappy input to this! Yes I do believe in true love.
