Abra:

I’ve said many times that I would rather be posting in a science forum, but they don’t have one here.

Excellant idea! I think that there's certainly room for it - and we seem to have as many as interested in science as are religion. Maybe it's "coming soon to a forum near you."

On the topic at hand...which was God's "plan"... I would like to share a quote from John Fischer, a widely recognized and respected Christian author...

"God does not pull all the strings. He counts on us too much for that. To find without seeking, tohear without listening, to say yes without the possibility of saying no is to negate the value of my seeking, my hearing and my participating. I am not a puppet.

Nor does he put all the pieces together. He leaves holes; he raises questions. He wants me to ask."

I think it would be pretty boring if we felt we knew all the answers...He gives us a way to find the answers....But it is up to us to delve and learn all that we can.....Whether it be from the Bible, others people, or studies. Thats is truly the miracle of God.....If he didn't want us to seek what then would be the purpose.

Wouldee, I hope it's not the only place left but it does seem like it. It is a unique scenario when you compare it to ANY other. Nowhere else have I found such comraderie even amongst rivals. No judgement or bitterness....for the most part anyway. laugh Don't borrow my Snap On tools and forget to bring them back.grumble
Everyone pulling together like one great big family!drinker
Is there any way of imparting these qualities on to the rest of society? Any way to show them how it can be?

KID!!!!

Probably not, without destroying the last bastion of our retreat from the worlds' ills!!laugh laugh laugh laugh

It's the only place and scenerio I have left to find peace of mind and mingle with others that aren't out to circumvent my liberties and peculiarly blue-eyed concept of America!!!

Unless, of course, they're trying to steal my secrets about chassis set-up!!!!

Ahhh, it's a fine art isn't it. Almost a black art when it comes to dirt track racing. You have to be able to read the conditions and try to predict what they might be like halfway and at the end of each heat, not to mention any yellows or reds that may happen, changing the track yet again.
It's truly a world apart from the norm.drinker

YUP!!!!!!

Life and death are in the air at all times.

The view from the stands is reminiscent of Rome and its games of carnage!!!!

The view from the pits is quite another.

And still, our secret is safe, as I've said a lot and said nothing!!!

Oh, how we racers avoid tell the truth!!!

Feral, dear!!

We're going quite off topic, but....

IMCA sanctioned circle track racing is a sport older than NASCAR and the source of stock car racing.

It remains the first and last representation of entry level and professional auto racing in America, whereas all can still afford to participate without having to be Gazillionaires to play!!!

Although, forces are at work to destroy this, by being at work to ,quote unqoute, improve it.

For now, at least, it still belongs to the racers and the fans!
But money and greed are trying to steal it away!!!

God Bless America!!!

I've been involved in sprint car racing for 20 years now. It's like a violent ballet on dirt!laugh drinker Grace at high speed with the element of grave danger. Nothing like it in the world.
The IMCA destroyed a class we had here called Outlaw modifieds. That's what I was building until they came in and took over. I can't afford to race a sprint car. True backyard creations and very affordable. My '28 model A body almost ended up getting chopped up for this project but it's still sitting unmolested.
Off topic but it does serve to teach there are bridges that can be built across any distance, culture, country through a shared interest. Cars and racing are the other universal laguage next to love.

Irrespective of gender, race, colour, religion or any other factor, once you've been bitten by the bug, you're never the same again. It's a wonderful feeling. Kind of like being one with the universe.
What else compares other than love?

Creative,

laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Let us hope that Tony doesn't goofin it all up now that he's a big wheel!!!

I believe in his efforts to preserve and further enhance the legacy of that track!!!

KID!!!!

I'm sorry for that one, too!!!

The independents also interfere with us in IMCA to some degree, as well.
\
They want to have IMCA- legal cars at their tracks but allow IMCA- illegal cars to compete. We can't swap components to suit the whim of the independent promoters' whims and race with them anyway....but they insist on having double standards.

Only in AMERICA!!!!!laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Off to work, I'll be back Tuesday if I can't find a wireless signal out in the middle of nowhere. I don't think they've resorted to strapping transmitters onto the moose quite yet.laugh
