How do you feel about sharing your password with your partner?

what Oh hell No...

Geez.. no wonder so many have never had a REAL long term relationship.

Currently single but in the past and future:

Some passwords yes and some no for both of us. My phone is open for her to look at any time. I don't look at hers because I trust her. But, women's hormones can make them think crazy things sometimes so anything to make her feel safe and secure is fine with me.

As far as my personal finances are concerned, no I will not share my passwords. I may if we are married, but I can't say for sure that I would. Unless it is a joint account that we share, he has no need to have free access to my accounts. If he wants to know about them he can ask me. I would feel the same about his accounts. It's his money and I have no business looking into them. It isn't a matter being secretive as it is a matter of personal space. Right now I am single, so I don't have to worry about it. I guess it would depend on the man and our relationship. drinker

I honestly don't know.
First time round is different: you buy a house together, have a joint bank account etc. Neither have been 'damaged' yet by another long term relationship, so both are still more open and trusting.

When in a 2nd+ relationship it's different. Usually you both have 'baggage' from the past, both have your own stuff set up as singles, and in a way, why should you suddenly start sharing? Would that add to the relationship?
It should not be like a mandatory thing. It should be a choice both make and that choice should make both happy.

As far as PCs and phones are concerned ... if I even remotely sense he's secretive about things, we will have a problem. Lived too long with a man who had more secret smut things going on than I wanted to know. But I still did know anyway. Not nice. Don't ever want that feeling again.

So like Tom said ... depends largely on the partner.

If I did not trust her she would not be in my life , people have been cheating for years without a password.I would offer mine up only as a solution to a problem that required me to prove myself for the peace and mind of my mate.

Yes I would because I would never cheat on a man so nothing to hide. I wish I could say the same about my soon to be ex-husband :)

Living with a guy like that who keeps secrets, tells lies and gets caught messaging other women turns you into a bit of a bunny boiler. I knew he was up to something especially when the 'married to...' in Facebook kept disappearing and he untagged himself from photos of us together then denied even knowing how to do it and blaming Facebook. At that time I knew his password so I lost my temper and went onto his Facebook account and posted a collage of lovey-dovey photos of us from our 20+ years together as a cover photo and a sweet photo of us cuddling as his profile. He didn't dare change them laugh

It was a sign to me I'd finally stopped caring when I went back in to his page and replaced the photos with solos of him. If someone is so determined to act single then let the law of attraction do it's stuff. Then he had the audacity to be shocked when I broke up with him and say he was happy!!!!! If you're happy with your lover why cheat??

How do you feel about sharing your password with your partner?

it's fine with me.. it may show him or her that you have nothing to hide.. however, if partners truly trust each other i dont think there is any reason to look through each others personal correspondence..
